Strait Coffee is a sweet little coffee shop conveniently located in the plaza next door to Creekside Campground! Our guests often comment on how good their coffee is and the treats are awesome.

Anybody remember the Canadian comedy-drama that ran on CBC from October, 1972 to December 1990, "The Beachcombers"? Creekside Campground is just 16 km from Gibsons where the TV show was filmed. Characters Nick Adonodis and his competitor, Relic, sat in Molly's Reach in nearly every episode. You can have a meal in Molly's Reach and view pictures and props from the series. Nostalgia at its finest.

Brookman Park is about a kilometer from Creekside Campground. It features a playground, hiking trails, a grassy area, and it is dog-friendly (bags supplied). The park is just before the Davis Bay beach where at low tide the sand appears and the ocean welcomes swimmers and beach- combers!

These beautiful creatures came from the creek that flows along our campground and stopped in front of the office. I watched as they safely crossed the Sunshine Coast Highway on their way toward the ocean or maybe into the forest. I love how close we are to nature at Creekside Campground!

There are always events happening on the Sunshine Coast! Just received the monthly Arts & Culture Calendar for June, 2018. Just a few highlights are: Create-Painting Workshops, Medicine for the Earth, Clay Wall Mural Workshop, Weavers Circle, Healthy Japanese cooking, Permaculture Design Course, Jazz Fest, Coast Symphony Orchestra, Dance works, Academy Children's Choir, Halfmoon Bay Family Dance, Motorcycle Show & Shine and Poker Ride, Children's Festival and Duck Pluck, Native Drumming Circle, 2018 Wine & Taste Gala!!! That's only a few of the events listed in this month's calendar. Something for everyone!

To reach the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia in 2018 you will either take a ferry or fly in a small aircraft. Although we are attached to the mainland of BC, there are no roads through the mountains to this little piece of heaven. Most people arrive by ferry from Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal in West Vancouver to Langdale Ferry Terminal, only 25 minutes from Creekside Campground on Highway 101! If arriving from Vancouver Island, you can take a ferry from Comox to Powell... River, drive about 30 minutes to Saltery Bay and catch the ferry to Earl's Cove. Take Highway 101 south toward Sechelt. Creekside Campground is just five minutes past Sechelt on the way to Gibsons! Driving along Highway 101, which is also called the Sunshine Coast Highway, is very scenic with trees along both sides of the highway and peek-a-boo sights of the ocean on one side and rocky, mountainous areas along the other side. Highway 101 is the only highway on the Coast and is about 156 km from Langdale to Lund (including the ferry ride). Well worth the drive! See more

Creekside Campground & RV Park is an easy 1 km walk from Davis Bay. There is a very lovely seawall to walk that is 1.08 km long with many park benches where you can stop and enjoy the view. This is the Georgia Strait between the Sunshine Coast and Vancouver Island. You can see the mountains of the Island on clear days and at night, the lights of Nanaimo. When the tide is out, the beach is strewn with shells, driftwood, and barnacle-covered rocks. (Don't step on those without... shoes on!) The sandy beach, near Mission Point Park, is great for sunning, sandcastles, and swimming. Lots of people enjoy fishing off the Wharf where the water is so clear, you can see the fish swimming below. Watch the water for the passing of seals, dolphins, orca and humpback whales!! You'll also see sailboats, paddle boats, kayaks, yachts, barges, and cruise ships. It is relaxing just to listen to the lapping of the waves, the cry of the seagulls, smell the ocean air, and taste the salt on your fingers as you touch the Pacific ocean! See more
