Fun Friday Single Calf Raise Challenge! Believe it or not there is a National Average for ages 18 to 64 . There is also an average for runners and for marathon runners! Use something for balance if you need to but try not to put your weight through your hands. Do as many as you can until you just cannot do another one. Make sure to give your calf a stretch after and do both sides. Is one side stronger than the other? How many can you do? Let me know and I will tell you how you rate!

What does an Athletic Therpist do? As per Emily Lambert Certified AT: We specialize in Musculoskeletal (joints, bones, ligaments, muscles, and tendons) injuries... We are experts in Injury Assessment, Rehabilitation, Prevention, Reconditioning, and Emergency Aid/Care We do in depth assessments that help us create an individualized rehab program that involves strength and mobility exercises. We also teach functional movement patterns and incorporate various other modalities. You do not need to be an athlete or play a sport to see an Athletic Therapist. We treat individuals who have been in motor vehicle accidents, have a workplace injury, endured a slip and fall, or those looking to better themselves in whatever leisure activity they participate in. In a clinic setting Athletic Therapists work with athletic injuries as well as everyday people who sustain everyday injuries or have aches and pains which come on suddenly or over time. These injuries vary from muscle strains and ligament sprains to broken bones, back pain, and pre/post surgical rehab. If you have been injured in a car accident or at work- Athletic Therapy is also here to help with treatment which is covered by MPI and WCB. Using primarily hands on techniques and specific exercise prescription an Athletic Therapist will help get you back to your active lifestyle.

You can book an appointment with Certified Atheltic Therapist Lisa Smyrichinsky at our Sage Creek clinic!!! 204-253-6768 [email protected] The role of an Athletic Therapist goes far beyond the playing field! Yes, they are the ones you see running out first when a player goes down with an injury during a game. They are the ones behind the scenes rehabilitating, educating, and encouraging that player back to their level of intensity. What people often do not realize is that Athletic Therapy is for everybody whether you are training for a sport or simply maintaining an active lifestyle!
