Flu shot appointments have been temporarily paused due to supply issues that are currently being experienced across the province. We will post a notice when vaccines become available. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to serving you.

We are working hard to get flu vaccine out to the community. We do have hundreds of patients on our waiting list. The Ministry of Health is slow to ship and we are at their mercy. Please be patient.

High-Dose Flu Vaccine is not for everyone over 65! High-dose flu vaccine is intended for those with weakened immune systems who have trouble forming a strong immune response. The higher dose of antigen in the HD vaccine helps those who need it build up the necessary immunity. It does not help someone with a normal immune system to get better immunity from the flu. The HD vaccine is in extremely short supply from the Ministry of Health as it was never their intention to prov...ide it to everyone over the age of 65. It is clear that there will not be enough to meet anticipated demand. (However there is plenty of supply of the standard flu vaccine). Pharmacies are replenished daily after Oct 26th but have no idea how much HD vaccine they will receive over the course of the flu season. The High Dose Flu Vaccine will be priority allocated to the following patients: 80+, patients with cancer, COPD, poorly controlled diabetes, heart failure or immunosuppressed. Since we do not know how much vaccine we are getting, we can not reserve a dose for anyone. The decision to administer the vaccine will be made by the Pharmacist at the time of your appointment based on the criteria above and availability. In summary: when you arrive for your appointment, if you meet the criteria and we have it in stock, you will get it. If your physician has insisted you receive the HD flu vaccine, we would advise you to contact their office to make arrangements for vaccination (please keep in mind, physicians also have very limited stock). We appreciate your understanding.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR WELLINGTON COUNTY RESIDENTS The Town of Minto and the County of Wellington support the decision made by Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer ...of Health, to issue an order under Section 22 of the Health Protection and Promotion Act to ensure public safety. Dr. Mercers Section 22 order requires all persons who own or operate a Commercial Establishment in the jurisdiction of the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Health Unit to: 1. Prohibit Persons from entering the premises of the Commercial Establishment or remaining in the premises if the said Person is not wearing a Face Covering. The Face Covering must be worn inside the Establishment at all times, unless it is reasonably required to temporarily remove the Face Covering for services provided by the Establishment. A Person shall be exempt from wearing a Face Covering on the premises if: a. The Person is a child under the age of two years; b. Wearing a Face Covering would inhibit the Persons ability to breathe in any way; or c. For any other medical reason the Person cannot safely wear a Face Covering. 2. Ensure the availability of alcohol-based hand rub at all entrances and exits for the use of all Persons entering or exiting the Establishment. An update about our reopening. We are not going to be ready for Saturday. Sorry for the inconvenience. We will be reopening to foot traffic on Monday June 8th. To facilitate social distancing, we will limit entry from Mill Street to 3 customers for general shopping. We are asking people to use the side door entry off of Caroline Street for prescription pick up. We will allow 1 person in at a time through the Caroline Street entrance. Customers must wear a mask and hand sanitize upon entering. We are still happy to offer pick up of front shop items at the back door as well, but we ask that you call ahead to place orders first.

Thank you all for your continued patience. We are working hard to get everything in place so that we can open our doors to limited foot traffic. We are aiming for Saturday June 6th. We will continue to keep you posted this week.
