Hey guys did you know that brake fluid absorbs moisture? DOT 3 and DOT 4 brake fluid are glycol based and absorb moisture over time. Moisture contamination causes fluid boiling point to drop (which could lead to fluid boil and brake fade during hard use). Moisture contamination also contributes to internal corrosion in the calipers, wheel cylinders, and steel brake lines. The reason for replacing fluid periodically is to get rid of contaminated fluid and restore fluid heat a...nd corrosion resistance. With winter coming to an end and all the moisture on the roads its good to change your brake fluid once a year to ensure proper braking wth your vehicle. If you cant recall when it was ever changed come in and see us and we will be happy to service your brakes and do a spring inspection for you. Book a time with our mechanic from Wednesday-Saturday.
