Responsible Pet Ownership in Parks As we all enjoy being outside and spending time with our family, friends and pets; we want to ensure we are creating as safe place for all our neighbours. Knowing and adhering to the regulations in the Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw 23M2006 helps to ensure that dogs are not being a nuisance in the community and dogs and citizens are safe. City of Calgary would like to remind dog owners of the following:... When off of their owner’s property, dogs must be on a leash unless in a designated off-leash area. When in designated off-leash areas, dog owners must ensure their dog is under control, is within their sight and responds to commands. Parking lots adjacent to off-leash areas are on leash. Owners are responsible for picking up all waste produced by their dog. Dogs are not allowed in school grounds, playgrounds, sport fields, golf courses, cemeteries, wading and swimming areas, and other areas prohibited by signs. Dogs must be walked on the right hand side of the pathway on a leash that is no more than two metres in length and must not interfere with other pathway users. Owners cannot cycle, in-line skate or skateboard on a pathway with a leashed dog. Dogs must not enter or swim in any body of water within a park except a river that runs through, or is adjacent to, a City park. Have and wear a City of Calgary licence when the dog is three-months-old When we respect the bylaw we contribute to a safer and healthier community. Thank you for being responsible dog owners and valued community partners. For more information about the Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw, visit calgary.ca/animalservices or contact 311.

I think Valley Ridge has started using the Nextdoor app which has now launched in Canada. If anyone wants to try it out for Crestmont you can use this link: https://ca.nextdoor.com/invite/gzxymwrwjtgnpltgqnzh I think we need 15 people or something to get it going for our neighbourhood.

A message from Qualico Communities! In 2019, the community of Crestmont saw many new residents move in, and the community draw closer to being complete. We saw the official launch of the new park in Phase 10, which new and existing residents alike have been enjoying. ... Partner’s Development Group is actively seeking tenants for the boutique retail and professional services, with plans to open in late 2020. To date, a dental office, wine and spirits store, and a daycare are confirmed. We also saw the launch of Crestmont View, and the opening of the estate acreage showhomes by Calbridge Homes and Augusta Fine Homes. Partner’s Development Group opened its new bungalow villa showhome, which opened up a new price point to the community. We look forward to the new residents that will move into these new homes in 2020! https://crestmont.qualicocommunitiescalgary.com/Arrive https://crestmontview.ca/ Finally, we launched the loyalty and referral program which saw some Crestmont residents move-up, and new friends and family members move into the community from your referrals. Thank you to all of our residents for making Crestmont your home! Frequently Asked Question: Why are some trails gravel, when most are asphalt? Gravel trails have been installed in the open space system in Phases 9 and 10 over the high-pressure gas line. Restrictions to the use of this space does not allow for asphalt pathways, and so gravel trails have been provided to maintain pedestrian connectivity. A gravel trail has been provided in the Phase 9 Environmental Reserve (ER) at the request of the City of Calgary to reinforce the natural experience of the ER, and minimize the impact of a paved pathway to the drainage corridor. The gravel trails in the Municipal Reserve along the ravine in Phase 10 have also been incorporated into the open space to provide pedestrian connectivity. See map to view pathways here.

Lot Drainage Bylaw for Homeowners In Crestmont many backyards have concrete swales that run along the rear property line. The purpose of the swale is to convey water overland (via the swale) to the nearest catch basin. The City of Calgary has instituted a lot drainage bylaw which helps homeowners to understand what their obligations are when it comes to appropriate water use and drainage for Calgary’s storm water system. It is a requirement to keep surface drainage facili...ties on private property (known as "Overland Drainage Right-of-Way" (ODRW) including swales and catch basins/drains) clear of any soil, silt, yard waste or any other matter that may obstruct, restrict or prevent the flow of water. Buildings or structures cannot be constructed or placed on or over the surface drainage facility. If a fence must be built over the facility, there must be at least 6 inches (15 cm) of clearance between the facility and the bottom of the fence.
