On February 21, 2021 at 5:09pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Cavell St and 9 Ave. for Medical Aid. Firefighters arrived on scene and assisted BCEHS paramedics with patient care.
On January 18, 2021 at 7:16 pm CFR was dispatched to the area of NW Blvd for medical aid. Firefighters assisted paramedics with patient care.
On February 20, 2021 at 3:31pm CFR was dispatched to the area of 20 Ave and Hurl St. for a Lift Assist. Firefighters arrived on scene and assisted BCEHS paramedics with patient care.
On February 19, 2021 at 6:59am CFR was dispatched to the area of 36 Ave and Masuch Rd for Medical Aid. Firefighters assisted BCEHS paramedics with patient care on scene and at the hospital.
On January 18, 2021 at 1:41 pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Highway 3 East for an open burn complaint. The resident was not following open burning regulations. Firefighters extinguished the fire. Please call the fire hall if you have questions regarding open burning.
On January 14, 2021 at 3:41pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Canyon St and 5th Ave N for a burning complaint. Firefighters investigated and located a small backyard burn containing yard waste. Homeowner was burning against Provincial Venting index and Town of Creston Bylaws, fire was extinguished on request. Please remember burning of yard waste in the municipality can only take place with a permit during the months of April and October. Any questions please contact the Fire Department or the Town of Creston for information.
On February 18, 2021 at 11:21am CFR was dispatched to the area of Hwy 3 for an open burn complaint. Firefighters arrived on scene and found a category 3 fire burning against the Ministry of Environment Open Burning Smoke Control Regulations. Firefighters extinguished the fire. Residents are reminded to check the venting index and read the regulations on the Ministry’s website before you burn.

Born and raised in Creston, Alec joined Creston Fire Rescue through our Junior program in February, 2018. Alec has obtained his First Responder Level 3 license and continues to build on his skills as a firefighter. Alec’s grandfather was a member of the department starting in 1974, so when he became a member he took a real interest learning about the history of the department. He established a collection full of pictures, newspaper articles, memorabilia and historical documents and has shared the collection with the public at the Home & Garden Trade show and the Fall fair. On January 14, 2021 at 10:40am CFR was dispatched to the area of Beam Rd and 36th Ave N for a medical call. Firefighters assisted BCAS paramedics with patient care.
On February 18, 2021 at 10:56am CFR was dispatched to the area of Birch St and 14 Ave for a Lift Assist. Firefighters arrived on scene and assisted BCEHS paramedics with patient care.
On Dec 24, 2020 at 8:39am CFR was dispatched to the area of Elm St and 18th Ave S for a medical call. Firefighters assisted BCAS paramedics with patient care.
On January 13, 2021 at 6:38pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Speers Rd and Kootenay River are for Power lines down. Firefighters arrived on scene to power lines from a service drop hanging low near roadway. Crews secured the area until Fortis BC arrived on scene and took over incident.
On January 13, 2021 at 4:48am CFR was dispatched to the area of Northwest Boulevard and Cavell St for a Commercial Fire Alarm activation. Firefighters investigated the building for any smoke or fire with gas monitor and thermal imaging camera, none was located. Firefighters determined the alarm was caused by faulty detection device and alarm system troubles.
On December 23,2020 at 2:26pm CFR was dispatched to the area of 18th Ave S and Birch St for a person struck by vehicle. Firefighters arrived on scene to a patient with serious injuries. Rescue crew secured the scene and stabilized the vehicle, no entrapment or extrication was required. Firefighters, BCAS Paramedics and RCMP worked fast to provide medical treatment and transport the patient to hospital.

Age 27, - Brewing Specialist, Labatt Brewery, Exterior Firefighter Alyson joined Creston Fire Rescue in November, 2019 after responding to a recruitment advertisement. She jumped right into a 9 month program and has completed her Exterior Fire Fighter training. Alyson comes from a family of firefighters, with her dad and brother being part of the service in North Rustico, PEI. She says they sparked my interest in the fire service for sure We are lucky to have Alyson here in Creston as part of our great team. Thank You Alyson for your service! See more
On November 18, 2020 at 2:52 pm Creston Valley Fire Depts were dispatched to the area of Highway 3 and 33rd Ave N for an outdoor burn. The resident was burning prohibited material and the fire had to be extinguished.
On November 18, 2020 at 2:39 pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Erickson Rd and 16th Ave S for medical aid. Firefighters assisted BCAS paramedics with patient care.

I don't live in fear - I am not a health expert - I just think these are reasonable actions. (I borrowed this quote from Darrell Reid, Chief Commissioner @ Strathcona County because it speaks directly to how I truly feel)
On October 31, 2020 at 10:56 pm CFR and CLFD were dispatched to the area of Lister Rd and and 24th St for a MVI. A single vehicle with 4 occupants had rolled off the road. All the patients were assessed and 1 was transported by ambulance.
On November 16, 2020 at 9:41 pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Dogwood St and 9th Ave S for medical aid. Firefighters arrived on scene but were stood down by BCAS paramedics.

On October 2, 2020 at 8:19am CFR was dispatched to the area of Cavell St and 9th Ave N for a medical call. Firefighters assisted BCAS paramedics with patient care.
On October 31, 2020 at 6:25 pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Highway 3 east for a MVI. Firefighters secured the scene and assessed the damage. No injuries were reported.
On Nov 16, 2020 at 7:41am CFR was dispatched to the area of Cavell St and 9th Ave N for a medical call. Firefighters assisted BCAS paramedics with patient care.
On October 1, 2020 at 7:43pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Northwest Blvd and Payne St for a medical call. Firefighters provided patient care until arrival of BCAS paramedics.
On October 1, 2020 at 7:26pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Vancouver St and 12th Ave N for a smoke report. Firefighters investigated the area and did not locate any sign of burning in the area.
In accordance with Federal and Provincial COVID-19 pandemic health and safety guidance, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our traditional Halloween Safety Stop at the Fire Hall this year. We will miss seeing everyone, but wish you a safe, healthy and fun Halloween!

Fire Prevention Week October 4 -10, 2020
On October 30, 2020 at 5:41 pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Erickson Rd and 25th Ave S for a residential fire alarm. Firefighters arrived on scene and found the resident had burned some food on the stove. We made sure all the smoke was out of the house and the alarm reset. Please remember to be careful when cooking.
On Sept 28, 2020 at 3:55pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Goat River South Rd and 15th Ave S for a burning complaint. Firefighters investigated and located a homeowner burning prohibited materials in a burning barrel, fire was extinguished immediately.
On October 29, 2020 at 10:23 pm CFR was dispatched to assist RCMP.

On October 29, 2020 at 9:02 pm CFR was dispatched to the area of 25th Ave S for medical aid. Firefighters arrived on scene and helped BCAS with patient care.
On September 27, 2020 at 6:53pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Simmons Rd in West Creston for a Motorcycle accident. Firefighters located a single motorcycle in the ditch on its wheels with minor damage. All passengers had left the scene prior to firefighters arrival. Firefighters checked for fuel hazards and marked the scene to caution on coming traffic.
On September 27, 2020 at 12:35pm CFR was dispatched to the area of 33 Ave. and Hwy 3 for a Burning Complaint. Firefighters arrived on scene and determined that the property owner was burning within current regulations.
On September 27, 2020 at 2:57am CFR was dispatched to the area of 7 Ave. and Birch St. for medical aid. Firefighters arrived on scene and were stood down by BCEHS paramedics.
On October 29, 2020 at 7:21 pm Crston Valley Fire Departments were dispatched to the area of Dogwood St and 25th Ave S for a possible wildland fire. The duty officer investigated and found a backyard burn. The resident extinguished the fire.
On September 26, 2020 at 5:59pm CFR and other Valley Departments were dispatched to the area of Lakeview-Arrow Creek Rd. and Wenger Rd for lines down. Canyon-Lister Duty Officer arrived on scene and assisted the home owner while waiting for Fortis to arrive. All other responding crews were stood down.
On October 27, 2020 at 1:46pm CFR was dispatched to the area of 12 Ave and Canyon St. for Medical Aid. Firefighters provided patient care until BCEHS paramedics arrived on scene.
On October 26, 2020 at 7:12pm CFR was dispatched to the area of Speers Rd and Kootenay River Rd. for a Carbon Monoxide Alarm. All occupants were out of the building upon the arrival. Firefighters search the main living area and the crawl spaces with a gas monitor with no readings of CO. It was determined that the occupants would not stay in the home over night and would call a technician to check the home.
On September 26, 2020 at 2:28pm CFR was dispatched to the area of 22 Ave. and Pine St. for medical aid. Firefighters assisted BCEHS paramedics with patient care.
