Crestwood Presbyterian Church 20.11.2020

In light of the many challenges our city and world have endured over the past six months due to Covid-19, we believe we need to be shaped by the practices of our global and historical sisters and brothers in the faith. These are times when we need to re-learn ancient and biblical Christian practices to sustain and guide us. For this reason, the Session of Crestwood Church is calling for us to fast and pray on the 19th day of each month until the pandemic is over. The health-r...elated and economic consequences of the pandemic are far-reaching and not yet over. In setting aside a day for fasting and prayer for Covid-19, the 19th day of each month seemed most appropriate. For this week, we will be focusing on Isaiah 58. We suggest reading, listening to, and meditating on this passage throughout the day. Set aside times to pray when you would otherwise be eating. We will send prasyer prompts throughout the day on the 19th, as well as a link to a Zoom gathering so that we can break the fast together. If you would like to be added to the email list contact [email protected] See more

Crestwood Presbyterian Church 07.11.2020

With the new guidelines issued this week for phase two of Alberta’s reopening, there are some changes to Crestwood’s worship beginning this Sunday, June 14th. Those who wish to attend worship must still let the office know by noon on the Friday before (email [email protected]) We will still assign seating in order to maintain physical distancing between people from different households. Those who are at all unwell, those who have travelled internationally in the last 14 ...days, and those who have had close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, may not attend. Aside from these groups, anyone who wishes to attend is welcome. If needed, we will set up overflow seating in the church hall. For all those who cannot come or who wish to worship from home, we will continue to live-stream the service via our YouTube channel. There will still be no child care, Christian education, or fellowship hour. Children may come with their families but they must stay seated in the family’s assigned seats. Rather than passing a collection plate, we will still have a plate available at the back when entering the church. The other options for giving remain. Now, members of the congregation may sing if they are wearing a face mask. Also, we will begin celebrating the Lord’s Supper again this Sunday. Rather than passing the elements down each row, the elders will distribute individual portions to each person while wearing a mask and gloves. We ask that those who attend arrive at least ten minutes prior to the start of the service. While some of these things will be difficult and awkward, we’re grateful that we are taking these new steps toward a return to gathered worship as a whole.
