Movie Sound Effects Facts
Excited to share this beautiful project in creation with Eleanor Albanese, the Indigenous Support Group with CNIB Thunder Bay and Willow Springs. Stay tuned for dates to listen and experience.
En route from a week of field recording in the French Pyrenees in a workshop with sound artist Chris Watson. If you can, check out his work, his skill and focus is inspiring. Happy Mothers Day
An amazing soundtrack by ElizaBeth Hill was partly recorded and mixed at Cricket Cave. ElizaBeth is such a versatile, talented artist who wrote a huge range of songs for this film from country swing to haunting dream vocals. Hope we get to work together again soon! I can't wait to see it. Congratulations to the cast and crew.
https://vimeo.com/312120061 Part of the group show Lesson's at Thunder Bay Art Gallery. The video is an excerpt from a recorded conversation with composer and sound artist Hildegard Westerkamp at Jericho Beach during a residency I had with her in the spring 2018. Using a simple screen sharing app used for tutorials, I've captured the Izotope's spectrogram app which show's the frequency's decibel level over 8 seconds. This time with Hildegard was a wake up call for me, to again, consider the act of listening in relationship to technology.
Photo from last months dance program : Reveal featuring Brian Solomon and CRIPSiE shown here with ASL interpreter Joyce and Cara Eastcott my wonderful friend and colleague. Good work connects mind body experience.

Tomorrow on reboot.fm (like, actual FM radio), I'll be digging into my treasure trove of soundscapes and playing a small selection of pieces previously featured... on The Ear Has To Travel and Wanderlust: Riverside Burrows by Abby Lee Tee, Hörstücke by Sinanom (Ana Berkenhoff), A Sonic Map of Dornoch by Andrew Backhouse and Keynote by Zoe Gordon (Cricket Cave). Tune in on 88.4fm or stream on http://reboot.fm/ See more
Behind the scenes celebrating musician Nick Sherman and looking at indigenous utopias in Thunder Bay. Check out this cool crew. @nickshermanmusic @michellederosier
Sound advice from my friend Tracie. Thank you! I've been interviewing women about listening and have found this thread of documenting experiences with intuition. If anyone ever wants to talk about it I'm down.
Check out Shayne's third video for METZ described by Exclaim as "bleak but colourful". http://exclaim.ca/music/article/metz-mr_plague_video
