Did you know that the blanket of snow actually works as an insulator! But only temporarily. Snow acts like a protective blanket between the low temperatures of the air and the ground. More importantly, it will eventually melt, providing moisture that the roots need to survive.

Fantastic News!!! Chrystal and I had an incredible morning. As was posted back in the summer....Cricklewood Farm partnered with us for their annual fundraiser.... Today we picked up the proceeds from that fundraiser. The corn maze brought us $3890.00. The donation can brought another $641.00 Thank you to everyone that visited the farm this season and to the generous people that also donated to the can and to all the workers that helped make the season a success. Thank you so much to the Siwicky family for their partnership this year, it will make a huge impact on our mission to assist orphaned and injured wildlife. To anyone that missed the maze this year....it is a fabulous way to spend an hour or two. Make sure to head out there next season. See more

We are so pleased that we were able to donate $4531 to Foster Forest Wildlife Orphanage. $3890 was raised from a percentage of our maze sales, and $641 was raised purely from customer donations. This money is greatly appreciated by Dee who runs this organization. She will be using these funds to procure a bat cooler, formula for squirrels and skunks, and food for the animals such as fruit, vegetables, and unsalted nuts. It was a privilege to work with this organization, and we can’t thank our customers enough for their support.

Ever wonder what we do with the corn from the corn maze? In Nov/Dec we harvest the corn using the combine. Afterwards it is dried in corn bins, and then sold at a later time. The corn is used for many different purposes - ethanol, corn syrup, cereal, soft drinks, pet food, and more.

We are so happy we could help out Produce for Heroes! Lyndsay Robins and Joe Switzer dropped by to pick up some apples and squash for distribution to some deserving veterans. Can’t say enough good things about this organization and the people who work within it. To learn more visit their website at: produceforheroes.com
