I’ve been in a funk lately, both creatively and mentally. So this morning I grabbed a coffee and went for a drive. I cranked the pop2k radio station, sang my heart out and found myself at one of my favourite spots. As I sat on the edge of the lookout and tried to clear my mind, all I could think of was how much I miss my people. ... The last time I took a photo of myself with this view it was filled with smiling faces of some of my favourite people in this world. And today I really wished I was back in that moment, with those amazing women. Laughing, acting ridiculous and just being together. As I reflect on this past year I have to say that even though 2020 was a year full of craziness it did bring me something amazing. 2020 brought me Sof!!!! Back in February I was checking her daily insta stories and boom she was looking for photographers to mentor. ... I always admired Sof and her work and thought why the heck not, I’m stuck in a photography rut and want my business to grow so who better to help me then someone I look up to in this business. Well I never imagined how much that little DM would change my life. Sof is that person that encourages me to be different, try new things, have new ideas and most importantly accept my weirdness. If I can recommend anything for 2021 it’s do find yourself an amazing friend like Sofia Katherine someone who encourages you to be yourself even if others think your weird.
