Cropthorne Farm 06.01.2021

Happy Friday! We've got lots of gorgeous veg coming your way this Saturday including mixed kale, winter squash, leeks, celeriac, winter squash, carrots, parsnips and so much more. Available at our Farmstand (Saturday, 10am-3pm) & the Riley Park Farmers Market (Saturday, 10am-2pm). We recommend trying out one of our many varieties of Asian Greens which are delicious in slaws, salads, soups, steamed or try stir fried then drizzled with red chilli oil and sesame seeds!... This will also likely be the last weekend to get your hands on our Jerusalem Artichokes. They are amazing simply roasted, used as a pizza topping or blended into a soup. See you on Saturday!

And we're back! Our team is back and hard at work preparing for restaurant deliveries today, then the Farmstand and Riley Park Farmers Market on Saturday. Needless to say this has been a strange and challenging year for everyone but earlier this week our team was able to sit and reflect on so many positive points and highlights that came out of 2020. We have shared a few here. Everyone worked incredibly hard this year and really came together to make Cropthorne a safe and pos...itive space for the whole crew and our customers. We would like to thank you all for your continued support this year. We are looking forward to everything that is to come in 2021. The Cropthorne Team wishes you a Very Happy New Year! #happynewyear #2021

Today is our last day open for 2020! We are open from 10-3 with pretty much everything except the turkey!

Cropthorne Farm 20.11.2020

We are OPEN Saturday and Sunday from 10-3 at the farmstand! (find us as well at Riley Park Farmers Market on Saturdays) We've got ravishing roots from german butter potatoes to rainbow carrots to watermelon radishes to the humble rutabaga. We've also got lots of leafy greens from the fields and hoophouses, from an array of radicchios to butter lettuce to kales and spinach. And sooo many more staples and oddities!... Thank you so much for your support this year, we are working hard to make sure we stay well stocked into Sundays. And just a reminder there are a few things that we ask to keep it a comfortable and safe shopping experience for all: Not to shop if you are ill. Ask a friend or neighbour to shop for you. All customers that are not in the same party must maintain a distance of 2 metres. There is a limit of two people (or one 'bubble') in the farmstand at a time, at the farm. Flow in one direction . Masks are not required, yet appreciated as an extra measure (for those who can wear them) to keep each other safe when distancing is difficult. Please be kind to other shoppers and staff. Kindness and compassion will get us through this

Hi Everyone! Friendly reminder that this weekend will be your last chance to stock up on veggies before the holidays! We'll also have plenty of eggs available at the farmstand. The farmstand will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10am-3pm. We will also be at the Riley Park Farmers Market from 10am-2pm on Saturday.... Then our team is taking a much earned break, but the Farmstand will be open again starting January 2nd on Saturdays from 10am-3pm. As well on Saturdays, we will be at Riley Park January 2nd-April 24th. We truly appreciate everyone's continued support this year, whether it was through our CSA program, braving the lines at the farmers markets or shopping regularly at our farmstand. From the whole Cropthorne Team we wish you all a Safe, Healthy and Happy Holiday Season. We look forward to seeing you all in the New Year! #happyholidays

We are looking for another farmer to join our team as a FIELD LEAD, to start in late fall/early winter. Someone who's got an eye for what's going on in the field, whether harvesting, planting, cultivating or irrigating, who can also take on other aspects of a diverse farm, whether washing, attending farmers markets, modelling romaine lettuce etc. It is a permanent, full time position that includes health and wellness benefits plus paid sick days and of course some pretty ta...sty veggies. Please see our website for more info and feel free to share www.cropthornefarm.com

Just a heads up that we won’t be at the last Ladner Village Market this Sunday. On the upside: farmstand is open all weekend 10-5!

It's Labour Day and that means farmers all across Canada are spending the day harvesting to provide food on ours tables. I'm grateful to all, especially our Cropthorne Field Crew of Simon, Mathilde, Allie, Bruno, Adan, Jenna, Martin, Olivia, and Miguel (who somehow has worked here the longest has eluded my camera all these years!) We are about to go big into fall harvest and know we’ve got a great crew to pull us through and have a few laughs along the way
