DAILY MINDSET **If you aim at nothing, don’t worry... we’ll hit it.** A clear and defined goal seems like an obvious first step. It is however often missed. ... It’s not that we don’t have any general goals or directions in mind it’s that we tend to lack *crystal clear specificity*. We lack the concrete intentions. And when we hit the chaotic storm that is life, we don’t have the foundation we need to stand on. If we have to pause to think about what our goals are, we haven’t yet defined them to the extent we need. Something is missing. They need to come to the mind in the blink of an eye, as if it’s a subconscious reaction. Let it be specific, measurable, and actionable. I need to get better with money, turns into I will have $40 of each paycheck transferred to my retirement account. I want to get fitter, turns into I will eat 3 quality meals per day, 6 days per week, and go to the gym on Mon/Tue/Wed, Fri/Sat. I want to have better presentation skills, turns into I will take the improv class in my city every Monday for the next six weeks. Be intentional. Specificity is everything.

Poor recovery catches up to you - reminded of this by Dr. Aaron Horschig @squat_university . What does this mean? If you train hard, you need to recover just as hard. .... You can get away with poor recovery for a little, but eventually it will eventually catch up to you in the form of stagnating progress & injury. #restdays #mobility #crossfitgroundworx

# DAILY MINDSET **What you resist, persists.** What would you think about if I told you to *not* think of a pink giraffe?... The same effect takes place if I tell you don’t slow down as you start your final 400 meter run in a workout. Our minds don’t operate well when we focus on what not to do. We need to flip the script, and focus on what *to do*. Turn don’t slow down into I can hold this pace. Turn don’t mess this up into focus on a clean jumpshot. If our thoughts become words, and those words become actions, we’re going to get what we focus on. So let’s choose wisely.

"Your actions speak so loudly that i can't hear what you're saying" It's not about what we talk about, but what we tolerate. When we think of our greatest role models, those we truly look up to in life, there's a consistent commonality we'll notice; their action under adversity. They achieved something great, under incredibly hard circumstances. They overcame a specific challenge in their darkest hour. And for that we remember them.... Our identity isn't shaped by the good times; but the challenging ones. In those moments it'll never be about what we say, but what we do.

"Do not fear failure. But be terrified of regret." - Ashley Soughtley Spaulding The reality of life is that we will hear more "no's" than "yes's". And we will fail. A lot.... But despite the hundreds of doors closed on our phase the hundreds of times we are told "no way", they will never haunt us. What we will regret will be the instance where we gave up. Where we told "ourselves" no. We don't fear failure... we welcome it. It's where the learning occurs. Where the real magic happens

COACHING CUE . Knuckles to the floor, not to the door - picked up from @daine.mitchell . When?... 1st and 2nd pulls of the clean or snatch . What does this mean? Turning your knuckles down towards the ground enhances our pull throughout the Olympic lifts. By doing this it forces the bar to stay closer to our body and allows the elbows to track out and up rather than back behind the body too early. Give this a try by practicing some pulls from the floor first and then if feeling good, try with your clean or snatch. See more
