Our store is now open Monday to Friday 10:00am-4:00pm. Our legal resource and counseling services are still working remotely over the phone and by email at this time. In order to continue to serve our community the best way that we can in this current situation, we are adapting as well as we can under the constantly changing circumstances. We are not closing at this time, however we are trying our best to help everyone remotely whether it be by email or on the telephone. We recommend that you call the Centre @ 403-562-8000 before coming in and we will advise you on whether or not we need to see you in person. If you are in need of some ...of the items that we have here in the store you are welcome to come in and get them, however we are limiting the amount of time and people that we are allowing in the store at one time and you will be expected to follow our protocols. In addition, please find below all of our staff emails. We are listing the emails addresses so that we can assist you while people are practicing social distancing. Please be patient with us as we try to adapt to these new procedures. We will answer the emails and any voice messages left on our voicemail as well as any messages left on Facebook and our website. We will strive to get back to you within 24 hours but we cannot guarantee this response time. If you are in an emergency situation please do not wait for us to return your message but instead call 9-1-1. Our regular office hours are Monday to Friday 10-4 and we will be keeping to that as much as possible but there is the possibility that we will be opening late and closing early on any given day, so again we strongly suggest calling before leaving your home. We are still completing income taxes and we will notify you when they are done, however we will not be asking that you come in to pick up your copy. If you need a copy it can be emailed or mailed to you. The income tax deadline has been extended and most of the emergency funding that is/will be available is not dependent on whether or not your income tax is done so do not worry about that. We have always been fortunate to be supported by our community and we are trying our best to support our community in this new reality. If there is anything we can do for you that is not listed above please let us know and we will see what we can do for you, until then, stay healthy and know that we are thinking of all our friends, clients and supporters out there. Just to let everyone know that we are currently still operating, although we have suspended one on one meetings. We are currently still seeing clients over the telephone and through email. As we are located in the provincial building we do expect that it is a possibility to be shut down eventually. We anticipate still being available in some form as many of our population is in need of general information, and we will continue to provide that information as long as possibl...e. While we are operating as normally as possible and will still be accepting donations we are asking those of you that are using this unexpected extra time to spring clean, please observe Social Distancing and keep the donations home with you. We want everyone to be as safe as possible and staying home and limiting the amount of time we spend around others is the smart thing to do. We have been here for the community for almost forty years and we will still be here for you when Social Distancing is no longer recommended. National Family Literacy Day! Did you know that today is National Family Literacy Day and by reading to children and engaging in fun literacy activities regularly, adults actively keep their own skills sharp and also help children improve their skills. Without adult support and a strong foundation at home, a child is less likely to be successfully and engaged in school. Did you also know, that our local library memberships are FREE! Because our community is so giving we are not always able to put out all donations that are given to us. We have a partnership with the Lethbridge Diabetes Association and they come once a month to collect items we are unable to accommodate. This way, all donations that are given to us are used in one way or another, either in our community or in another community nearby. Thank you for your continued support!
