The Crowsnest Pass Health Foundation receives and distributes funds for equipment and programs that enhance patient services and health programs in our community. This support goes to any area of need in the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre, but specifically toward state-of-the-art healthcare equipment, vital programs and special projects in your hospital. Our volunteer Board of Trustees ensures all funds are dispersed in keeping with the wishes of our donors. The response of our... local citizens and corporate donors to our Health Foundation Christmas Campaign was truly amazing. Through our Newsletter mailer, individual donors contributed a record $7469. In lieu of a Christmas Party, Teck Resources gave a generous donation of $61 625 to our local hospital. The funds were used to purchase two specialized bath tubs, one for Continuing Care residents and one for Acute Care patients. The Arjo tubs are compatible with height-adjustable bath lifter chairs and are complete with a patient lift. This enables caregivers to transfer a patient or resident directly from the beside or wheelchair into the bath more safely. Also, with these donations, the Foundation was able to purchase 3 Broda Patient wheelchairs, two for Continuing Care and one for Acute Care. Broda’s wheelchairs provide safe, comfortable, long-term seating that maintains mobility while dramatically reducing the number of falls, pressure injuries and unsafe vehicle patient transport. The Crowsnest Health Foundation would like to thank our donors for their continued support to the health of our community. If you would like more information on how you can make a gift to support the efforts of the Crowsnest Pass Health Foundation, please visit us at www.cnphealth.ca or call 403-562-5018. See more

The Crowsnest Pass Health Foundation is taking a deep look at its brand in the coming months. Our goal is to better understand what people know (and do not know) about us. We invite you to share your views with us, whether you know lots or little about us. From now until Dec. 9, you can take a 10-minute that will help us shape who we are, now and in the future. The link to take the survey is https://survey.albertahealthservices.ca/TakeSurvey.aspx. The survey is also posted online on our website at www.cnphealth.ca. The survey results will be woven into our new brand, which we’re creating with the help of Alberta Health Services Community Engagement & Communications team. We will roll out our new brand in spring 2021.
Watch for this year’s copy of our brochure in your mail box and the Pass Herald this week!!!
One a Day Patient and Family Advisor (PFA) Celebrating the impact that advisors have in AHS Each day this week, in celebration of Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC), the South Zone will profile one of its PFAs. Patient and Family Advisors are volunteer patients, families, and caregivers that bring a richness of health experience and diversity (all ages, genders, backgrounds and cultures) to their roles of advising AHS on what matters most to patients and families. The w...ork of PFAs ensures that patients and families are at the center of everything AHS does. Meet Bonnie from Crowsnest Pass Bonnie is a member of the Crowsnest Pass Health Centre Quality Council, and also volunteers there with the bereavement and palliative care programs. What first interested you about the position? I am passionate about the operations of our CNP Health Care Centre, especially involving the care and well-being of our patients, both in Acute Care and Long-term Care. How would you describe what you do to someone interested in this position? You are there to enhance the patient's care and well-being, NOT direct it. You should be empathetic to the situations that the families and the patients are dealing with. You should listen more and talk less. Thank you, Bonnie, for your contributions to make AHS better. All that you do has a huge, positive impact on patient and family centred care!
