2020 Delivers a Strong Finish! December wrapped up the year with some very strong numbers. Even though December is historically a slower month, the final results were impressive to say the least. The strength in our market is evident. Greater Victoria is the place so many Canadians want to live, and pandemic or not, the pressure they are putting on our market is undeniable. Last month we saw a 54% increase in unit sales over December of 2019. That increase followed six consec...utive months of unit sales increases. The results are quite staggering. Significantly, the impact of this has been a large drop in inventory. Although new listings continue to outpace 2019, the overall inventory continues to drop, and as of December 30th our inventory of active listings is 38% lower than the same time last year. As we move into January of 2021 we expect more of the same conditions. While we do expect more inventory to surface as we move through the remainder of this month, we also know that there are still many active buyers out there still searching for their next home!
