Good Evening from C&R.... It's been awhile since we have checked in to say Hello and let you know we are missing you. Like all of you, we continue to do our part and stay safe during this difficult time, patiently waiting for better days ahead. Rick keeps himself busy, finishing up some custom orders that were scheduled and has been adding some items to the barn inventory. Replenishing supplies such as Lumber, Hardware and even Finishes has proven a bit challenging of late but Rick looks at things as a challenge and continues to build beautiful pieces nonetheless. Custom built for Me :) ... mentioned to Rick I would like a new plant stand... Look what was waiting for me when I got home from work!! I wasnt looking forward to moving my plants indoors given it meant cold weather was just around the corner but now I am excited to see them in my new planter. Good Morning Friends... just a reminder that C&R is opening today at 10:00 and will be adding this beautiful cabinet to our pieces. Finished in a grey mist with ,a touch of distressing. A beautiful solid wood piece, offering so much storage and true quality. As follow up to our previous video, a sneak peek into the entrance cabinet that Rick has been working on. Once the customer approved the final build, the dismantling and finishing starts. This unit comes apart in 3 pieces and Rick will be busy in the shop today with the many finishing steps. Despite the record heat, Rick has still managed to complete these one-of-a-kind beautiful pieces. It was almost as though the raw edge lumber he was able to find was calling his name and he just had to carry on with his vision. Hours spent removing the bark and sanding to perfection, but so worth the time (and sweat), finishing with layer after layer of protective seal. No matter the angle, truly unique lumber, creating that special piece for your home. Tables with antique cast iron sewing machine bases, and a smaller coffee table or bench with hairpin legs, whichever you prefer. So proud to be adding these gems to the Barn. Years ago, as a child, I remember how exciting it was when my Grandma would say it was time to move to the Summer Kitchen :) I loved those days... different furniture, different dishes, attached porch with a cot where my Grandpa took his nap on those lazy summer days... there was just something about the Summer Kitchen that I loved and had forever missed - until now! We have finished our own summer kitchen at 25 Devils Door Road and we love it. Thanks to Rick and his talent for building anything, we have a beautiful kitchen, country style cupboards, and lots of place for my collectibles. Even Brewster the Rooster likes his new perch. I am sure we will look forward to our move to the summer kitchen for many years to come!!
