With the new year approaching, consider how your life could change for the better by attending a Step Study. Millions of people have gone through Celebrate Rec...overy Step Studies globally. Those who have completed the process know that millions more could benefit from it as well. A Step Study is a gender specific group people who get together through a local CR with the goal to move toward healing and freedom. We use a biblically based CR curriculum to answer questions that help get to the core of our hurts from our past. Step Studies also helps us face hang-ups & false thinking about how we see ourselves, God, and others... helping us remove some unhealthy habits that may have damaged us & our relationships closest to us. If you would like to join a Step Study in a CR near you, visit www.celebraterecovery.com. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #StepStudy CelebrateRecovery.com

There’s a scene in the beginning of John 14 where Jesus is explaining to His disciples that they don’t need to be concerned about the future. He explains that e...ven if they can’t see Him, they know the way by just following Him. Then Thomas hits him with this: Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way? Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. John 14:5-7 How often do we get confused about today, or tomorrow, or which direction to go, or if we should hit the brakes or hit the gas? Every human on earth knows which way is right: Follow Jesus. He is the direction we should all head in, no matter how healthy or unhealthy we are. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Waymaker CelebrateRecovery.com

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day a...t a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next. Amen. - Reinhold Niebuhr #CR #CelebrateRecovery #SerenityPrayer CelebrateRecovery.com

Since those fateful decisions were made in Eden, humans have been fighting for freedom. God calls us to be free, and as a result we all work so hard to be free ...from our hurts, hang-ups, and habits. But like the message of Step 12, Galatians 5:13-14 reminds us that our freedom really isn’t just for us: For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Perhaps we all consider today how our freedom can help other people? If we work together within the power of Jesus as a family, our freedoms have great potential to unlock the lives around us. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Freedom CelebrateRecovery.com

Have you ever been arrested? Every day our attention is arrested. It may be given to family, or jobs, or our addictions. The thing is, you only get so much atte...ntion and you can choose where to focus your attention. Part of committing our will to Christ is proactively applying our attention to His plan for our lives. Yes, feast on all the treasures of the heavenly realm and fill your thoughts with heavenly realities, and not with the distractions of the natural realm. Colossians 3:2 TPT Maybe today we all try to give our attention to, or allow ourselves to be arrested by God? #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Arrested CelebrateRecovery.com

How often do we wish we could have the little moments back in life? You know, those moments where things just felt right? What if today has one of those moment...s but we are too preoccupied to fully appreciate it? Whether on our phone, anxious about tomorrow, or lost in our past, we all should fight to make sure we are present where we are planted or we risk missing today. Be very careful, then, how you livenot as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15-16 NIV We owe it to our futures to get the most out of today! #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Moments CelebrateRecovery.com

It is so easy to prioritize the loudest/unnecessary requests in our lives. And then we lay our heads on our pillows wishing that we would have invested in the t...hings that really mattered. But that’s not what Jesus teaches. In Matthew 6:33 he said, So above all, constantly chase after the realm of God’s kingdom and the righteousness that proceeds from him. Then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. How? Invite Him in to your day at the start of the day. Creatively use your talents to promote Him. Search for His goodness in your life. Invite Him in to your dysfunction. Find evidence of Him in your day. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Priorities CelebrateRecovery.com

#repost @celebraterecoveryofficial It is very hard to progress in our recovery while focusing on past mistakes. It is very hard to forgive while focusing o...n the hurt. It is very hard to overcome our denial if we stay focused on how hard it will be to recover. It is very hard to recover without a focus on Christ’s work on the cross. I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus. God's light shines through us because He is in us. John 1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Matthew 5:16 In the same wa...y, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. God's light cannot be contained. As we work the steps we can count on His light to show us which direction is correct. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Light CelebrateRecovery.com

HALT is an acronym used to remind us to ask ourselves if we are hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. It is a handy tool to add to your recovery tool belt that can h...elp you keep a proper perspective on your circumstances. When we are under duress, it can be much harder to keep focused on staying on the road to recovery. But, it is not impossible! If we can stop ourselves from our normal patterns, we can turn to God and ask for His help moving forward. Try this tool out today to help keep you focused on Christ and keep you from going backward in your recovery! #CR #CelebrateRecovery #HALT CelebrateRecovery.com

Our pasts provide the backdrop to show what God has done in our lives. Our past choices do not define us, but instead inform how much God has saved us from! Th...e Bible is pretty clear in 2 Corinthians 5:17 on how God sees us once we accept Jesus as our Higher power: Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new person. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new. Use your past as fuel to help you focus forward toward God’s brilliant plan for your life! #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Past CelebrateRecovery.com

#repost @brokenchainsjc A synonym for sober is clearheaded. Today I’m clearheaded which allows me to experience all God has for me. Sometimes it’s pure joy ...but other times it’s the discomfort of being refined. I’ve learned through the process of recovery that I need to experience all my emotions in order to live life to the fullest. I use to do anything to escape from the pain but that also numbed the joy. Today I’m grateful for my emotions and the ability to feel but my emotions are not who I am. My emotions don’t dictate my behavior, my Jesus does. Today I know the Truth, today I’m clearheaded and I’m experiencing ALL that God has for me! #celebraterecovery #brokenchainsjc #hopedealer #motorcyclemissionary See more

Often times people want the symptoms of addiction to stop. They pit all their energy into addressing the ripples instead of searching to find what is causing th...em. Celebrate Recovery provides a safe place for people to discover their hurts, hang-ups, and habits. Not only that, CR goes one step further to equip you to uncover the root cause of the disruption and uncover God’s promises for your life. Groups are opening back up around the world. However, if you’re in an area where groups are limited, reach out to a local CR and join a group that is meeting online.
