Congratulations to our MFA alumna Michelle Good, her novel is on the fiction bestseller list! Michelle was also the winner of our 2018 HarperCollins UBC prize for Best New Fiction and earned her MFA in Creative Writing while practising law. is a story about five children who went through residential schools and after their release are striving to find a place of safety and belonging in a world that doesn’t want them. Similar to ...’ , the plot discusses child stealing, but this story is based on real child stealing that occurred in Canada, providing an accurate depiction of what happened to indigenous people during this time.
