On Saturday October 31st Crystal Cave welcomes the Nippissing Rock & Mineral Club who will be teaching a Wire Wrapping Workshop in our lower level! The Club will supply all materials (mineral and rock beads, polished cabochons, wire, findings, tools). We are very hands-on here at Crystal Cave~ we do a lot of trecking out to the middle of nowhere to find crystals/minerals that are not very far below the earth And we always have to keep in mind that on the way out our buckets and backpacks will be much, much heavier.. Then we get them home and clean/scrub them forever and decide what needs cutting or polishing to bring out the beauty, or is is best raw. I just finished painting our mermaid for Amie’s Crystal Moon Cafe bus!! She will swim alongside the bus and draw in all the sailers with her siren’s voice :)) And of course she glows wildly under black light! So we are figuring out a way to install some long ultraviolet lights under a hood over her that will turn on and off periodically so we can see her glowing in the dark like a spirit!
