We are missing The Nutcracker this week even more, but are so happy to have our dancers back in the studio!

The Canadian School of Ballet 04.12.2020

It is with great sadness that we announce that due to COVID-19, we have made the decision to cancel our Nutcracker for 2020. Your love of The Canadian School of Ballet's The Nutcracker means so very much to us. We could not be more grateful for your support and understanding. This time of social distancing and isolation has allowed us to reflect and realize the importance of the arts and performance. Not just for the audience in attendance but also for our young performing artists who long to be on stage. We will get through this together and look forward to sharing the magic of The Nutcracker again when it is safe to do so. We will be stronger than ever! Thank you again for your constant support and dedication. Photo: Jen Harden

Yesterday marked our last day of #summerintensive2020 Wow! It was truly a year like no other. Huge shout out to all our teachers who kept going, adapting, mot...ivating, and keeping the spirit of dance alive through the summer. Thank you to all the parents and dancers for trusting us to put on a safe and rewarding intensive despite being in the midst of a pandemic. And we can’t forget the amazing @maggie.fayy04 who faithfully stood in the room when a teacher was on zoom to demonstrate, organize dancers, and 5,6,7,8! We are so grateful and hope to see you again next year!! @sarahsmithpodollan @taylormcauley @kristen_helfrich @kirahofmann @lauratyepurkiss @paigeparkhill #danceduringcovid #ballet #moderndance #jazzdance #hiphopdance #danceteachermagazine #danceteachersofinstagram #dancersofinstagram #dancersofig See more

New hip hop choreography! If you’re wondering why these young dancers are wearing masks when it’s not mandated to do so, it has been totally by choice of the y...oung dancers and parents. Even though we said it is totally optional for them, they all showed up day 1 with them on. When I asked one of them today how it was to dance in a mask she shrugged and said fine and wasn’t bothered by it all, she said she got used to it. Our teachers are making sure the dancers have lots of mask breaks and water at the side when they need it. #inprogress #summerintensive2020 #newnormal See more
