Urban Rec Okanagan Monday Ball Hockey Semifinals Preview Intermediate: Chiefs (1) vs 41 Thunder (4)... 41 Thunder handed the Chiefs their first loss of the season but outside of a 7-5 loss, this matchup has been all Chiefs from buzzer to buzzer. Another monster performance will be needed to upset the Intermediate top dogs. Strangers (2) vs Central Ice Dogs (3) The Strangers have dominated this matchup, winning all 3 games outscoring Central 14-5 along the way. Central will need to buck the trend if they want to throw a monkey wrench into the Chiefs vs Strangers final most of the experts are predicting. Div-1: Jagr Bombs (1) vs Ogobrogos (4) Jagr Bombs have dominated this matchup all season, going 3-0 and outscoring the Ogobrogos 21-3. They are the heavy favourites heading into this game and are expected to be in the Div-1 finals when all is said and done. Griffins (2) vs Divorced Men (3) Outside of one game, the season series between these two has been fairly close with the Griffins holding a 2-1 edge in head-to-head matchups. While the Griffins are the clear favourites, several experts are picking the Divorced Men for the upset. If the last two games between them is any indication, this could be one of the best games all season.

Urban Rec Okanagan Sunday Ball Hockey Rec-A Playoff Preview B-Pool semifinals: Creamsicles (1) vs AM Lumber (4)... AM Lumber came into the seeding round as the 8th seed and almost shocked the world as they held a lead over the top seeded Hawks late into the second half. In the end, the Hawks experience took over and AM Lumber was bumped down to the B-Pool. They'll face off against a familiar foe in the semifinals as they take on the Creamsicles for the third time in the past five weeks. The teams are tied 1-1 in the season series but AM Lumber holds a distinct advantage in goals scored. This game could go either way and both teams are looking forward to locking horns one more time with a birth in the finals on the line. Red Light Army (2) vs WCA Jets (3) These teams had identical records heading into the playoffs with RLA owning the goal differential tiebreaker. Jets won their only regular season meeting 5-4. Both teams are coming off narrow defeats in the seeding round and looking ready for whatever this semifinal throws at them. This one could come down to coaching and line matching. A-Pool semifinals: Hawks (1) vs Whalers (4) Based on the standings, both teams are where they expected to be, one game away from the A-Pool finals. In their only meeting this season, the Whalers beat the Hawks 4-3 in a game where Whalers goalie Derek Soles stood on his head, while the Hawks were missing starting goalie Chris Harris. Based on how this season has gone, the Hawks are the slight betting favorite but nobody should be surprised if the Whalers pull this one off on their way to a A-pool finals appearance. Barracudas (2) vs ShamRocks (3) The ShamRocks dispatched the Barracudas with ease in their only meeting this season, topping the teal by a score of 6-2. After a scare in the seeding round, both teams should be ready to go with a chance at Rec-A glory on the line. Expect full lineups from both sides and plenty of intense action. The betting lines are as even as we've ever seen heading into this one as both teams look primed for a finals appearance.

Urban Rec Okanagan Sunday Ball Hockey Rec-B Playoff Preview B-Pool semifinals: WATCHMEN (1) vs Spare Parts (4)... The WATCHMEN were expected to chug along to the A-Pool finals but came up shorts against the Phantoms in overtime. They'll look to right the ship as they face off against Spare Part at 10am. At the end of the day, people ask how many URO championship t-shirts are hanging in your closet, not what division you won them in. Central Rec Dogs (2) vs Headlamps (3) This one should be fireworks as both Central and Headlamps are coming off tough losses in the seeding round. Central was decimated by injuries and it showed as they were dominated by Rec Light Army and the Headlamps also ran into roster issues and suffered a heartbreaking loss in overtime against the Big Meats. Both teams will hopefully have full lineups as they square off for a chance to play in the B-Pool finals. A-Pool semifinals: Step Dads (1) vs Phantoms (4) The Phantoms shocked the world with an overtime win against the 2nd seeded WATCHMEN and will look to keep the upset train rolling as they match up with their rival Step Dads. The last game between these two was a heated affair and that was without the added playoff intensity. If there's one Rec-B game to watch all season, this could be the one. Big Meats (2) vs Rec Light Army (3) Their only meeting of the season was a nailbiter that saw RLA win the game on a late goal by Mason Holz. We might've spoke too soon about there being one Rec-B game to watch all season, this Sunday it appears we could have two must-see games on the schedule.
