I bought a dresser this summer on a whim. It was cute and unique and I figured I could paint it and use it to store my ridiculous amount of jewelry. But things change. My two teenage sons have kicked me to the curb from our main bathroom because they conveniently need it when I’m putting my face on....everyday!... So I packed my things and moved to the floor of my closet room. Yes an entire room, full of too many clothes. I’m tired of sitting on the floor and I can’t seem to find the perfect vanity. The dresser is now going to be one half of a very glamorous vanity!! I’ve stripped the polka dot contact paper, removed the chunky knobs, gave it all a light sanding and slapped on the hi-gloss Black Sapphire Behr paint. I found two spindles in my it’s not junk pile to make as legs. I’ve bought gorgeous sleek gold knobs and.....gold leaf!!! Can’t wait to put it all together and add a counter off the side at window sill height and a low stool. And why stop there! Can’t put a gem in a barn and therefore I need to transform the entire room!! I’m thinking gold glitter wallpaper and a chandelier!! Stay tuned to see the transformations!! Eeeek

A church friend, MS, contacted me recently. Her and her boyfriend just purchased their first home and asked if I’d assist in changing up the colours while they were away working. A few tester pot samples later and ever changing light colours, we found the perfect combination. The yellow colour on the entire main floor was going to be covered by a neutral colour, Cedar Key, and an accent, Waynesboro Taupe. The dark brown spare room with blue and white stripes also got Cedar K...ey. Mint green in the master ensuite was changed to Boulevard. Working out in the gym will be much more tolerable with Province Blue walls and River Road was the perfect match for our existing wall. (All colours were Benjamin Moore, with the exception of River Road which was Behr) I ended up painting the main floor vaulted living room, dining room, kitchen, pantry, hallway, entry and entry closet as well as the master ensuite , and spare bedroom. We brought the accent wall colour, from upstairs, down the stairs and wrapped it into the living room. I colour matched a wall, repaired and painted it, and painted out a room that will become a home gym. The total project took 5 days. I called in help on the 4th day painting the vault over the stairs and had great help every day by Phil, the tail-less cat. I also finally found my hidden talent. The ability to paint a perfect straight line, repeatedly, while edging without tape! Lol I wanted MS & CU to return to their new house, not just freshly painted, but to something that felt like a home. Like most projects I do, I hand washed the floors, vacuumed, staged and cleaned up. Moving is a daunting task and I didn’t want them feeling overwhelmed as soon as they stepped in. I’ve been waiting to post photos and I received a message from her yesterday, when she finally got home.... Ahhhhhh So so good!! Thank you so very much! Thank you for the staging too, those little touches were so wonderful to come home too Again thank you so much, feels like home so much more now!! Enjoy your home MS & CU!! Tomorrow we open our doors at Peace Lutheran Church for the first time since Covid came. I’ve been secretary there for 15 years and have dealt with many things but nothing comes close to this. Our services will look different now but are blessed to finally be coming back together, with limited numbers for now. I created this spot for our members to have communion before they leave, after our services, because we aren’t able to communion like we did before. ...
