Prince Albert Police responded to 184 calls for service over the weekend. The majority of calls involved disturbances and evictions. File 2021-4011 Weapons C...omplaint Members are investigating an incident at a residence in the 100 Block of 11th Street West in which a man was threatened by a male with a gun. Just before 4:30 a.m. Sunday, the resident reported a window at his residence was damaged. As he attempted to fix the window, a male approached and threatened him with a rifle. The suspect is described as being in his early 30s and approximately 5’7 tall with a mole near his left eye. He was reportedly wearing a black toque, black bunnyhug, blue jeans, and dirty white shoes. File 2021-3994 Aggravated Assault Police are investigating an aggravated assault late Saturday night involving a 31-year-old woman who had been dropped off at the Victoria Hospital with severe injuries. The woman was later transferred to hospital in Saskatoon for further treatment. This file remains under investigation. File 2021-3989 Weapons Complaint Police responded to a weapons complaint in the 1700 Block of 12th Avenue West around 10:20 p.m. Saturday. A 23-year-old man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. His injuries are not life threatening. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. File 2021-3324 Damage to Police Property On Monday, January 25 at approximately 9:25 p.m., an officer was responding to a report of a motor vehicle collision and slid off the icy road and into a concrete barrier at a business in the 200 block of 17th Street West. Damages to the police vehicle are still being assessed. The officer suffered minor injuries.

Media Release - Prince Albert Police Addressing Violent Crime; Annual CSI Numbers to be Released This Week The Prince Albert Police Service continues to work to...ward targeted enforcement of all crime, including gun violence and gang activity in our community, while also focusing efforts on addressing root-cause issues that often lead to violent crime. Ahead of the release of the 2019 Crime Severity Index (CSI) values later this week, the Prince Albert Police Service continues to review crime trends, including the index data for the last 20 years. The 2019 Crime Severity Index numbers are scheduled to be released by Statistics Canada on Thursday, October 29, 2020. The Crime Severity Index provides an annual comparison of police-reported crime statistics for communities across the country, including rates of violent and non-violent crime and related trends. In 2018, Prince Albert ranked 6th overall amongst roughly 300 communities with core populations over 10,000, a slight decrease in overall crime when compared to the previous two years.
