Canadian Taekwon-Do Federation International 30.12.2020

Dear Masters and Instructors, I have received some clarification regarding the Online course offered by ITF. This is open to ALL black belt levels, not just 3rd dan and higher. ... For those 3rd dan and higher who need an IIC requirement between the dates of March 2020 to the end of February 2021 (meaning you will be grading between these dates), then this course qualifies as the mandatory IIC. This also qualifies for any 4th dan and higher needing an IIC to transfer their certificate from another organization. This is not full IIC, as not all components are taught. The 4th dan and higher who need this in order to grade between the months listed above will complete an online exam after the course. Please see the official letter from ITF for your own clarification.

The International Taekwon-Do Federation held it's first ever World E-Tournament offering events in many categories for ages 12+ and blue belt and above, much the same as a World Cup. These events included Individual Patterns, Team Patterns and Team Pre-Arranged Sparring. This E-Tournament played host to participants from 39 countries, 164 member clubs, 906 competitors, 127 coaches and 56 umpires. A special thank you goes out to the organizing committee and the umpires who mad...e this prestigious event possible, especially during these challenging times. Canada had great participation from 10 member clubs, 51 competitors, 7 coaches and 5 umpires. A total of 8 medals were won by Canadian athletes consisting of 2 Silver and 6 Bronze. Congratulations to all of the winners and to all of the athletes who participated in this event, representing their country, their club and themselves. A lot of hard work and training went into their training in a short amount of time. The ITF also launched a new program over a year ago called the Adapted Program offering classes and instruction for students with certain disabilities, being it physical, cognitive, genetic or acquired. This E-Tournament also marked the first time that the athletes of the Adapted Program were included to compete in a demonstration event. We are very proud to congratulate Mr. Darryl Andaya of DSA Royal International Taekwon-Do for his performance and participation in this event!
