Making butter at the museum, Happy Culture Days!

A huge shout out to everyone who joined us for our Culture Days weekend. There were lots of laughs, and lots of inspired conversation! Now have fun getting "The... Cat Came Back" and the "Log Driver's Waltz" out of your head. For my part, I joined the kids in some cultural excursions to Agora Gallery where we enjoyed photographs by local amateurs and professionals alike, Gallery Stratford, where Alice and I exchanged chatter about the hundreds of pieces of "high" and "low" art available at auction, between which Alice saw no discernable difference (to many high fives from me,) then SITE Gallery where both kids and I made collages using their available materials (thanks!) and finally to York Lane Art Collective where I took in what turned out to be my favourite exhibition of the year, "No Moon Landing" by Jack Wynn, a socio-political art exhibition / expose featuring paintings, collages, and sculptures compiled from hundreds of newspaper clippings collected over several decades, which calls into question the very validity of the 1969 American moon landing. Completely outside the box? Yep. Like nothing I've seen in Stratford? Yep. Lowbrow? Yep. This showed ticked all my boxes. Looking forward to more of this! Go community!
