Today we take a moment to think of the missing and murdered indigenous women and girls. Never stop talking about this.

Today is Orange Shirt Day, which is recognized in schools and communities across Canada. September 30th was chosen since it’s the time of year when children were taken from their homes, away from their families and shipped off to residential schools. We wear an orange shirt to honour those who survived these residential schools and also to remember those who did not. Wearing orange is a way to acknowledge the losses of family, language, culture, freedom, parenting, self-esteem and worth and the painful experiences of abuse and neglect that undermines a child’s self-esteem. Every Child Matters!
