Happy 2021, folks! We’re taking a walk down memory lane to recap what a year 2020 was. It may have had its share of challenges, but we’re in awe of how our community came together! Like how Calgarians raised an astounding $10.3 million for pandemic relief efforts through the COVID-19 Community Response Fund, hosted by the City of Calgary and the United Way. Through this fund, 197 social services agencies - CUPS included! - were able to continue supporting older adults, peopl...e with disabilities, people experiencing homelessness, Indigenous communities and many others impacted by COVID-19. It was in 2019 when James was tested and diagnosed with hepatitis C. Having faced the challenges of poverty and trauma for a number of hard years, the diagnosis was a wake up call for James.
