We are monitoring the curre...nt situation closely and are hopeful we will still be able to host the bonspiel. We will be following all protocols and health measures put in place by the regional health authority in addition to special adjustments to the curling matches to ensure everyone is staying safe & healthy. If the province remains in a code red, we are unable to host and will honour your support by refunding your payment less the service charge. An update from Ken Onagi, AMCC President on yesterday's curbside poppy campaign: Good Morning Everyone! What a day we had yesterday! Yesterday’s Fundraiser was an overwhelming success that exceeded anything I could have imagined. It would not have been possible without the dedication and efforts of all of you. From the bottom of my heart I thank each and everyone of you for making it a success.... A total of $2,276.85 was raised for the Poppy Fund and our Veterans. Special thanks to my Father Harold Onagi and Jody’s son Brandon Cohoe-Smart for volunteering their time for this cause! Huge Thanks to Club Member Brooke Onagi and Club Manager Jody Smart for their incredible work getting everything ready leading up to yesterday so we could have this event in the first place and with all their efforts helping during the event! Thank you to the Charleswood Legion League Curlers Rose and Phil Otis for jumping on board and dedicating your time to making this idea a reality! Finally I wish to express our thanks to our Webmaster / Social Media Genius Kevin for getting the word out and updating our social media platforms. We had many people show up because they heard about it from the media outlets. We had people who heard about it and came out from as far away as Fort Richmond, The HCS as well as other parts of the city! UPDATED November 10: due to additional Level Red restrictions announced by provincial health officials today, our facility remains temporarily closed until further notice. Our November Board meeting will be proceeding on Nov 14 via videoconference. As you may have heard earlier today, Level Red public health orders enacted to reduce the spread of COVID-19 will apply to the City of Winnipeg beginning 12:01 am Monday, November 2. This action requires all indoor and outdoor recr...eation facilities, including ours, to close for a minimum of 14 days. Following the lead of two weekend leagues that decided to cancel their scheduled games, the AMCC Board of Directors will close our facility effective immediately. Other city clubs have taken the same action. The ice surface will remain intact, and facility staff will take actions necessary to reduce operating costs and maintain the facility in a condition that allows quick and efficient resumption of league play when conditions allows us to do so. We will continue to watch for guidance from Provincial health authorities and CurlManitoba, and provide further updates to our members as the situation evolves. Enter from the East (Vimy Road) doors, and proceed directly upstairs. You will be greeted by a volunteer at the top of the stairs, who will direct you to the bar to sign in, and then to an available seat (which you must remain seated in unless you are ordering from the bar / restaurant, or using the restroom). First-come, first-served. Please remember that you must wear a nose and face covering mask in our facility any time you are not seated.
