Here it is, the long anticipated announcement of our "Free Registration" contest winner. This young lady has already proven herself as one of the strongest wome...n in the maritimes at two of our strongwomen competitions and is now ready to show us what she has on the powerlifting platform. Congratulations to Alicia Simmie! Alicia has been lifting heavy with her dad for sometime now and they both use the sport to help them through some ruff times and create an unbreakable daughter/father bond. But wait there's more. In true powerlifting community spirit, after we announced we were having this contest, we were contacted by a member (who wishes to remain anonymous) and long time supporter Curly Portable's Pub & Grub who both wanted in on the action and offered to sponsor one the contest entries. So we have two more winners to announce. Our anonymous member wanted us to pick a new junior lifter. So for them we picked Thane Hutt, Congratulation Thane! Thane is a 17 year old athlete who has a history of gymnastics and, more recently, rugby. He has been hitting the weights to get stronger for his sport of choice and decided he wanted to test that strength on the platform. Curly's reviewed the entries themselves and chose Rebecca Britten as their sponsored lifter, congratulations Rebecca. Rebecca hit the gym a few years ago to help better her heath and very quickly found powerlifting and the amazing community that goes with it and was hooked. Congrats to all the winners and we can't wait to see what you bring the the platform.
