Help make Christmas a little brighter for less fortunate children in our community! Due to the pandemic, the Giving Tree is not able to operate as usual. Thankfully, many organizations have stepped up to help fill this need and coordinate donations. This year, to share the magic of the holiday season, Curves will be collecting items like new toys, new clothes, personal supplies and gift cards for our annual Donation Drive. Fundraising for the Clay & Elaine Elliott Women’s Health Centre / Northumberland Hills Hospital was always close to Debbie’s heart as she received great care there. We’re so grateful to the women at Curves who kept up the tradition of an October fundraiser for the Centre. Within a week of the memorial fundraiser, $2,155 was collectively donated to dedicate a tile in Bill’s Garden. Thank you

Many members have asked about a memorial fundraiser or donation for our beloved Debbie. At every chemotherapy session, Debbie would stop and admire an art installation titled Bill’s Garden outside of the Chemo Ward. The garden is made of several colourful painted tiles. Some of which are still available to be sponsored. So we’ve decided it would be fitting to dedicate a colourful tile to Debbie with proceeds from the tile supporting the Clay and Elaine Elliott Women’s Healt...h Centre at Northumberland Hills Hospital Foundation where Debbie received great care. Anyone who wants to contribute is asked to make a private donation at Curves. Curves Cobourg will also purchase a duplicate tile to display at the Club in honour of Debbie.

Our family would like to thank our wonderful Curves members for their thoughtfulness and acts of kindness during this heartbreaking time. Let’s try this again ... After over 5 months of being closed due to COVID-19, Curves is excited to SAFELY welcome our Members back on Monday, August 31! We’ve made the tough/unpopular/lame/bummer decision to postpone our reopening from our tentative date of Tuesday, August 4. At this time we are hesitant to commit to a new date, however we promise our Members that we’re working hard and are super pumped to welcome you all back as soon as we can. There’s a few things behind the scenes that need to get sorted before we can reopen and we greatly appreciate your understanding, patience and support

On Monday the Provincial Government announced that our region is moving into Phase 3 (effective today) which means Curves is able to cautiously open our doors! While we’re thrilled at the possibility of welcoming everyone back, our priority is the health and safety of our Members and Staff. We’re working diligently to ensure the responsible reopening of our Club and researching guidelines and implementing practices to create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Gi...ven all this work, our tentative date to reopen is Tuesday, August 4th. Debbie has collected most Members’ emails, so please watch your inbox for updates and info. While the club will look a bit different, you will still be greeted and coached by the same happy (masked) faces and enjoy the same total body workout and attention that motivates you to keep coming back to Curves.
