I was inspired to write this after reading simething similar from another priest on social media. This evening, I visited a priest friend that I hadn’t seen in awhile. We talked about many things, but the greatest joy was to simply spend time with a brother priest. I can talk with my brothers in a way that I can't with most others, as we have a unique perspective that is shared and common joys and burdens that we share. For forgiveness to be complete, there needs to be restitution. Forgiveness is not a blank check. It's an opportunity, offered in grace, to right a wrong without fear of retribution or retaliation.
