Federal Reserve Announces Day of Issue of Redesigned $100 Note The Federal Reserve Board on Wednesday announced that the redesigned $100 note will begin circulating on October 8, 2013. This note, which incorporates new security features such as a blue, 3-D security ribbon, will be easier for the public to authenticate but more difficult for counterfeiters to replicate. The new design for the $100 note was unveiled in 2010, but its introduction was postponed following an unexp...ected production delay. To ensure a smooth transition to the redesigned note when it begins circulating in October, the U.S. Currency Education Program is reaching out to businesses and consumers around the world to raise awareness about the new design and inform them about how to use its security features. More information about the new design $100 note, as well as training and educational materials, can be found at www.newmoney.gov. See more

New AR$100 banknote issued on September 20th, 2012. In commemoration of Mrs. María Eva Duarte de Perón (1919-1952). María Eva Duarte de Perón: She was a preeminent leader in the political and social history of Argentina, a strong advocator of the rights of the most popular segments. She strove for the casting of women’s vote, the achievement of which contributed to the political progress of the country. She tirelessly prompted the National State to follow policies aimed at c...onsolidating the social protection of the poor. As first Lady, the wife of President Juan Domingo Perón promoted the acknowledgment of worker’s rights and carried out social work through Eva Perón’s foundation. She cemented her ties with the humble people and learnt about their needs by visiting them in their places of work and the neighborhoods they live in. To them she devoted her life. Her dynamic work gave raise to significant achievements: tourist plans for children, subsidies for building hospitals and polyclinics for trade union’s workers, and national social assistance to poor families; her top priorities being employment, housing and health. On June 4th, 1952, Eva Perón made her last public appearance when President Perón took office (second term). After enduring a painful agony, she died on July 26th, 1952 at the age of 33. She merely wanted people to remember her as la compañera Evita (the Militant). Her name is inextricably linked to any fight against injustice and social inequality. The main images are printed in intaglio and the backgrounds in offset. It reproduces the portrait of Eva Duarte de Perón facing left surrounded with a border of flowers, with security backs consist of ceibo leaves and flowers, an icon of the Argentine Nation.
