Nice sled seat insert section and full top stitch colour change to match some fresh powder coating.... I can definitely modify stock covers and change things around, but i think at that point it probably would have been easier to just whip up a new cover. I always kind of pictured Santa's chariot as a late 50's impala....but the colours on this Mustang fit the bill for being festive. Lifes short man.... if you want a bright red convertible top, get a bright red convertible top. Be different. The red stayfast canvas really makes this car pop! Wrinkle free, nice and tight, glass window Also as per usual with the tops we changed the tacking strips out, new pads and tension cables, got the headliner all cleaned up. While the car... was in the shop we ended up doing some real good looking 2 tone red and black seats with the Mustang logo embroidery paired ip with some thin black piping. Simple and clean, it all comes together as one nice package. The number 1 question i get asked is "How long have you been doing this?" or "How did you ever get into this" I've been around nice cars and sewing machines my entire life, i was born into doing this. Always old coupes, tri 5's, and muscle cars in the yard. You won't typically find me behind the machine with a smile on my face like that now though lol... there's an absolutely incredible amount of stress and pressure in doing final finish work for everyone to see and judge, l...ike a heavy weight you feel some days. Here's a 6 duece we did a while back now. She sees lots of miles, gets a lot of use and shows like the day it was done. Was in for a tear in the front seat, some seatbelt updates, a rear removable arm rest, and a headliner that had got damaged over the winter. I'll have to post a few more shots of this beauty... its hard just getting 10 pictures in. Customer wanted something factoryish but something not at the same time. White with a red cloth insert, something timeless. I can do that. Car came in as they usually do, 100000 pieces with everything needing replacement. We retrofitted a mid 60s cadillac split bench seat in for him upfront as he liked the armrest/ buckets look while not losing the bench seat. Some major modified seat ...tracks to remove the 900lbs of power seat guts to convert them back to just a lever action. Nothing really to go off of for patterns or anything on this one. It had no headliner at all, just some bows laying in the trunk. Full scratch headliner, made up a couple new bows. Doorpanels all new perfectly fit for the car, maintaining all the factory stainless with a mikd set of new armrests to keep the look just right. Seats all taken to bare springs, all redone top to bottom. Some convertible top reconstruction to start your day. Someone "installed" a top on this car previously....but missed the mark by a good 4 or 5 inches(story of my life). Pretty much worst case scenario for a convertible top install on this one. There was so much pressure on the bows from it being pulled too far forward that it snapped the rear floating bow, buckling a few others and breaking some parts along the way. They tried to straighten it out and 110 bubble gum weld it... back together and slap some nice soft bolts back in there that were way to small instead of the large collared bolts that hold these together...so those were all broken as well. Lots and lots of tape measure and hammer finesse, up down measure up down measure up down measure. Ground out the old welds and layed in some high heat, some tweaks here and there, zip zap alacazam and presto, back to factory. So here's hundreds and hundreds of hours, summed up into 10 pictures of my brothers @sk1tz204 way over the top outrageous Caprice. This thing is absolutely crazy... custom made seats, door panels, wrapped pilars, dash ,trim. Every single stone has been overturned in this car. The more you look, the more you see. It might not be your style, but you cant knock the hustle on this thing. Tons of double top stitched purple, wild patterns and designs. There's absolutely nothing coo...kie cutter /cut paste repeat on this car. We also did a full revamp on the hydraulic setup while the car was here getting ready for the world of wheels this past winter started fresh with a all new layout and pump rack rockin 3 pumps, all fully removable from the car.I love welding and fab work, and am definitely not apposed to doing airride or hydro setups if its something you're looking for along with an interior.
