Here are a couple of modifications you cantry with yoursquat exercises,to build up your strength. Range of Motion (ROM) is more important than how much weight you can use so give these modifications a try.Only going halfway downin your squat,with twice as much weight, isn’t going to make your body better. It’ll only makethatROM stronger. This is a great exercise for anyone who hasn’t been active for a while.Just like any movement, the harder it is to do, the more m...odifications your body will make to make it easier. When you make it easier, you also reduce the benefit. If you keep reducing the benefit, you’ll get weaker and weaker as time goes on. Well, Movember is over for another year. Growing my Mo to help do my part in the topic of men’s health. My middle pic is a half-Mo for all those men who have lost their lives to suicide and cancer. There wasn’t;t as many eye rolls this year with my Mo. I guess wearing a mask and training online kinda takes away from the epicness of my moustache. (I’m sure that’s a word ). The End of Year Special is still underway! If this is your first time exercising with us, sign up now and receive the rest of November on us! Our schedule offers Fitness Boot Camp classes on Monday (6am & 6pm), Wednesday (6am) and Saturday (9am). There is an evening class on Wednesdays (at 6pm), but it's an amazing mobility and core/strength class where we work on mobility through the entire joint while building strength a the same time.... Each class is 45 minutes in length. All classes are open to you for only $50 per month. If you'd like to add Jane's Yoga Class, (Tuesday nights 5:30 - 6:15pm), you can add it at a 50% discount. So, for only $80 per month you can exercise every other day to stay fit and healthy. If you can't make one of our classes, I can send you a link to a pre-recorded workout to do, until you can join the next live workout. We've put together a great combination of mobility, strength and stretching for a complete full body routine every week. Exercising hard is great, but your body does need a bit of rest once in a while. Check out our schedule on our website at www.CustomFitness.ca Each class is a LIVE virtual fitness class. The 6:00 am classes have lower attendance, so please let me know if you plan on attending and I will open up the zoom room. Are you training real life?
As the title asks, are you training for real-life or just the gym? What I mean by this is, are you adding natural functional movementsto your workout routine,or just basic machine pushing and pulling movements? Your body moves in a 3D environment,sowhy not train that way?Our body (via muscle contraction),never moves in a straight line.... We move side to side (frontal plane), forward and back (sagittal plane) or rotating (transverse plane).When you're exercising and only working within one of these movement patterns, your body remembers to only move that wayand any otherplane ofmovement becomes stiffer because your muscles aren't used to it. I've seen programs where people train exclusivelyonmachines because they've been told that it's safer, however, ifyour body can only move in one direction, how safe is it going to be when you need to move out of that plane? Try adding in some rotation to the exercises you're doing now.Instead of just a shoulder press, rotate as you lift thedumbbell.Try a band /cable press with some rotating at the end of the movement. Here’s a move you can try out Hold your arm up in the air as high as you can.Keeping your arm straight, sit on the floor and get back up again.All the while keeping that arm straight to the ceiling. Bend, twist and rotate to sit while keeping that arm up. Yes, you can use the other arm.
