The saturation point is the maximum capacity of water vapour a parcel of air can hold at a given temperature. ... And 2) when air is cooled to its saturation point and condensation occurs either by means of radiation cooling or adiabatic expansion (lifting). Remember, that a parcel of warm air can hold much more water vapour than a parcel of cold air! Hence, why we have lower dew point temperatures with higher relative humidity in crisp temps (like -31 in Cochrane, ON!) and clouds form. #science
