In order to protect our clients and our business, we now have a "New Policy"... Remember the days of when you decided for the day you need a haircut, then show up at the shop...sometimes you got in right away, sometimes you had to wait a bit or if we were really busy, you'd be asked to come back at a certain time... Or, you decided for the day you need a haircut but it took you at least a week to show up at the shop because you were busy with life... In those days there were ...set times available to you to show up, at your convenience, to get a haircut. Things have changed drastically because of Covid, but our business still continues to provide the same great service to you. In order to do that you now have to make an appointment. The feedback is 98% of our clients prefer appointments. The #1 reason is it helps in organizing their time. From our perspective, it also helps to positively organize our business with a steady flow of clients where we can foresee how our business is maintaining itself. In order for us to continue moving forward this takes commitment on BOTH sides. We now require at least a 24 hr courtesy call or text if you are not able to make your appointment time. Follow up story on Mr. Chase... He and him mom pull up to the shop and wait in the car for their turn to come in as everyone is now instructed to do so. I finished with my client, sanitized everything, went up to the window and waved to him to come in. He got out of the car, with his mask on and walked inside on his own, first time. I was waiting for him by my chair. He sanitized his hands, then sat down on the booster chair that he is quickly outgrowing with each haircut... as, this year, he hit double digit number 10 birthday. I told him I was going to use my favourite cape on him. He liked that. I ask him what kind of haircut he wanted, he said "mohawk". I quickly realized his hair was quite short for that style. He confessed his dad was shaving his head while waiting for us to re-open. I did reassure him that we would still go for it, but it was going to be a very short mohawk and that it would grow in no time. He was happy with the end result as I also added a little tattoo design on one side of his head as requested. His final request, and favourite part, was to add gel to maintain his new style. Voila!!! He looked awesome!!! But we both knew it was time to take our follow up picture for mom( she collects them). Turned out to be a great selfie. I'm sure he was smiling under his Toronto Blue Jays mask. After that, to my surprise, Mr. Chase pulls out his wallet from his pocket, like a little man, and pays me. I was impressed. Our usual good-bye hug couldn't happen this time but I promised hopefully soon. He said good bye as I watched him walk outside to the car where his mom was waiting. As mom gave two thumbs up, she had a great big grin on her face as she had just received her picture of Mr. Chase and I, and also approved of how handsome her little man looked. I waved goodbye through the window.
