We have literally not had a chance to sit down since our reopening on January 23rd, 4 weeks ago. We feel like we are finally getting caught up and by the end of the month should have gotten all the bumped appointments done. Thank You for all the support and encouragement from our clients. We appreciate your love & patience during this crazy time. Working with a 25% capacity restriction has been extremely challenging with our large team & trying to fit everyone in. Thank you to the team for working some very long days & accommodating our clients. Zoom, online everything! - 2020, you gutted me that day in March when I was forced to submit ROE for my entire staff. Laying off my entire team, a second time, 26 weeks later felt like a repeat of hopelessness. But Team Cutting Loose fooled you. We rallied, we cried, we held each other up, we laughed, we zoomed, we ate more, we drank more, we surprised ourselves. We are still here. - 2020... taught me to never again take for granted the freedom of human touch. I can’t wait to hug the people I care about. So 2020 you’ve been a big swell ride of emotions & lessons. I will not look back at you with negative thoughts. I am embracing everything you’ve taught & shown me. We are resilient. Will we get the go ahead this week to open up? We are hopeful for an announcement from the government Wed or Thursday, but so far no news yet. Here’s what we know: If you had an appointment booked in November/ December/January that was cancelled, we will be contacting you to reschedule AS SOON AS WE HAVE A DEFINITE RETURN DATE. We will have a LOT of calls to make, so please be patient as we reach out to you in the same order you were originally booked. We will need to man...age our call volume level & try to reach everyone that was bumped out from the past 8 weeks first. Please know that we will be calling YOU. We ask at this time that you DO NOT CALL the salon. Please be patient when we say we need time to accommodate those that got bumped out due to our closure. If you did not have an appointment booked In November/December/January & want to get on our wait list please text your name, hair service required & your stylist’s name to either your stylist or to Tam’s cell 204-997-1340. As soon as we get the phone calls made, we can address the wait list. We will be transitioning stylists back to work based on our allowed capacity restrictions & their own schedules. Because of previous guidelines & restrictions we have had to make a lot of changes to our work schedules for the whole team. We have not been allowed to work at full capacity since last March. I know there will be a lot of negative posts today about 2020. I truly do not feel that way. It has not been terrible.....it’s been different......very different! But for all the challenges,there has been silver linings to most of it. -I hope 2020 is the reason that personal care homes & care of our seniors get a closer inspection & increased quality controls for all. - 2020 proved that world leaders can come together for a greater cause & work towards a fix for a world wi...de pandemic. - 2020 taught me an improved appreciation of my own health, our country’s healthcare system & the deepest respect for those working in any part of the healthcare field who have been literally keeping us alive this year. - 2020 has taught me to be more tolerant & patient. Not everyone has the same opinion on how this pandemic should have been handled or how imposed new rules apply to them. My own opinions have changed through the course of this year! My husband partner challenges me daily with our very different Covid perspectives & we’ve learned to agree to disagree! - 2020 has shown me true colors & character DO INDEED show through during stressful times. Real friends have stepped up & shown me support when I didn’t even think I needed it. - 2020 taught me what I already knew about my career. I love it and I wouldn’t change what I do for anything. I personally think hairstylists should be essential because of the mental health aspect of personal services but I don’t make those decisions. I know how hard it was to make good decisions for my team during all of this, I can’t imagine being in the shoes of our civic, provincial or federal leaders having to make decisions for the city, province or country. Regardless of your political party favourites, kudos to them for making the tough decisions to get us through this. Extra kudos to my new secret crush Dr Roussin! - 2020 has taught me to bend. For someone like me who is organized & always planning ahead, this year threw me some major curve balls. I learned to alter my path & reluctantly pivot. I liked the path I was on, so trust me when I say I was very resistant to adjusting & had many tears along the way. Next post.. See more
