In Cambodia, The Lake Clinic serves the underserved.....The Lake Clinic goes where no other organization is going. Most charitable organizations, including the big ones, only serve the poor conveniently located on main roadways that are easy to reach. But what about the thousands of others living in the mountains, around the lakes and rivers, without navigable roads or without the funds to pay for transportation? The Lake Clinic team will seek out those in need, treat, and pr...ovide medication free of charge to the impoverished patients. The Lake Clinic is the only provider of healthcare available on the large lake that is home to the over 13,000 people living in floating homes/ villages. The Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia and serves as home to some of the poorest and most remote villages in Cambodia. Over 1 million people live on and around the lake. The majority of families rely on subsistence fishing for survival and the average family income is $2.50 per day. The need is great. CW Asia Fund Foundation supports The Lake Clinic. See more
