As some of our customers already know, we have resorted back to cooking out of our home based kitchen again. :) It was very nice to be located in town, but with the everything that has been going on this year, we have decided for our family that working from home is the best thing for us! Today's lunch special is freshly made cabbage rolls!!!! 2 cabbage rolls with a side of sour cream and dinner roll $8 SOUP: Chicken Vegetable with acini pasta. Come on in between 11 and 2 to warm up!

Good Morning. We have started our new facebook Page, "The Whisk & Skillet" however it is pretty bare, as I haven't really added anything to it. (working on it) We are planning on starting our new adventure from the kitchen out at Connie's Country Store in Dresden on February 11th. (11am to 3pm) What we will be starting out doing is offering ONE DAILY fresh LUNCH TAKEOUT special. Example: Monday will be Pierogie Lunch, Tuesday we may offer a Cabbage Roll Lunch, Wednesday ...something different etc.... For the first few weeks we will not be offering any of our frozen trays, until we see how things go. I am currently working on a two week menu and I will post it here when it is ready. I just want to be clear that we are not going to be a sit down restaurant type of place with a full menu :) Only the daily lunch special (grab and go) I did purchase a couple of tables and chairs though for anyone that wants to enjoy their takeout lunch with us ;) I hope this explains things well, please let us know if you have any questions at all. So much has been happening!!! First of all we would like to say thank you for all the support in the past year and a half and let everyone know how much we appreciate each and every one of you. You can't even imagine how great a feeling it gives us to see the comments and reactions from all of you who have enjoyed our food. We are very excited to be moving in a new direction, very soon, to create "grab and go" lunches in Dresden at Connie's Country Store. Further details of ...our lunches will follow soon. We have some of our "delicious" cranberry/apple jam ready for your Christmas dinner. Goes great with turkey, ham, roast pork, crackers and cream cheese and ice cream for dessert :)

Whatcha got cooking today you ask??? ;) Slowly simmered german smoked sausage in sauerkraut with a touch of my own seasoning!!! $6 per container. (16 ounce containers) Please let me know if you would like some today while it is fresh - I will be popping them into freezer later this afternoon.

Just finished a batch of our Creamy 3 cheese Mac and Cheese Bake!!! $10 per tray - I have 4 available fresh today. (4 already spoken for)

As I listen to old "Traditional" Christmas music here while making Cabbage Rolls today, I started to think about the FOOD traditions I always LOVED over the holidays when I was a child. One thing my Mom always gave us (and it was only at Christmas time) was pomegranates!!! I think they are so pretty, and it was fun getting our fingers all red while eating them!!! I know, kind of strange, but a wonderful memory. What was your favourite FOOD tradition, and do you still do it years later?
