A flythrough of our Richards and Drake Development in Vancouver created for the Virtual Open House (January 11 to 31, 2021)

We are excited to share the design for our mixed-use social housing building to be located at the corner of Richards and Drake Streets in Vancouver's New Yaletown neighbourhood. The rezoning proposal seeks to replace the site's existing institutional use (Place of Worship and related facilities) and incorporate them into a new, 40 storey building with an institutional, residential, cultural, educational and community-use podium and 198 affordable rental housing units in the... tower above. The dynamic triangular tower form is strongly influenced by the view cone constraints as well as the surrounding urban context. A unique contemporary character is being sought through the use of colour and high-quality materials and finishes. In 1995 Glen Brae mansion was converted into Canuck Place by DA Architects. It was the first free standing children's hospice in North America.

The demolition is now complete and the excavation is in the process of being finalized at the Panorama Heights Elementary School Addition project this morning. DA were the architects responsible for the complete transformation of the Coast Plaza Hotel property at Denman Place in downtown Vancouver’s West End neighbourhood. The old Coast Plaza Hotel was converted into residential rental suites and includes a new Sonder boutique hotel slated to open in late October.
