Late Post: Dealing with the demons is not easy. Putting on a facade for years was exhausting. Dahlia - The Happy Child narrative was a heavy weight to bear. Social media didn’t help this one bit of course. Posting picture after picture - just frozen moments of perceived happiness in time. Well, I have started to break this in recent times. Here’s my serious face. It’s okay not to be okay. I can be all spectrums of the human emotion and still be ME. And most importantly, I can finally let it bleed into my art. . #worldmentalhealthday2020 #worldmentalhealthday

May we recognize the ones that are well-suited for us when they come into our life. May we treasure them. May we never take them for granted and humbly apologize when we do. To see and be seen in any relationship is a gift. Meet my Mama Edna (Edna's Pickles) ! If you ever come to a show of mine, she’s either at the door administering the sales or in front of the stage singing the lyrics, crying with joy or cheering me on. She is the first to get a new mix of a track, the person who sends me articles and website updates that I need done, the person who taught me how to use Twitter lol and setup my merch online. She always means well and is generous beyond compare. I admire and try to emulate her... business savvy and entrepreneurial ways, her constant need to help other people and share her similar passion for cooking, art and people. After being an accountant her entire life and with the amazing assistance and support of my father Tony Fernandes and started her own Indian relish business 15 years ago (initially doing both until she made the jump). She can identify almost ever single customer she has in her database and what their favourite flavours are and even which trade show they met at. She has gone above and beyond for the GTA Artisan community from advise on setting up their business to getting them into shows so they could make a consistent income of their art. For our family, she never stops showing her love for all of us and spoiling us with custom home cooked meals on the weekly. It breaks my heart to not be able to be there with her to celebrate her birthday in Toronto today but am there in spirit. You are truly one of a kind Ma. Love you

Sweet People! Your responses to my post a few days ago (with the exposition of my shaved head) was overwhelming and very touching. . I have yet to put into words how powerful and awesome the feeling of shaving my head has been for me artistically, humanly, womanly and more. Thank you for your love & support.
