Did you know: we turn FIFTY this year! Our official birthday is in November but our opening event was on January 17, 1971 and featured Gary Karr (string bassist and professor at what is now known as Fountain School of Performing Arts, Dalhousie University ). We plan to share a few events per week in this format. Let us know if you attended any of these shows or if there are any performances that surprise you! Go ahead and share any great photos, show posters, tickets, or mem...ories that you have from these shows or any others. Also on the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium calendar this week in history we had: New York Trumpet Ensemble (Jan. 15, 1985) Debra DiGiovanni (Jan. 11, 2014, presented by Just for Laughs) The Dream Continues: A Musical Tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by the Nova Scotia Mass Choir (January 12, 2019 *this is an annual event that takes place around January 15, the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.)

Arts Centre staff will be taking time out of working from home tomorrow, November 11, for Remembrance Day. In a year that has brought many challenges due to COVID-19, we remind you to check before attending an in-person ceremony as many of them have changed their procedures in light of the pandemic. We would also like to share this article that highlights some Dalhousians who served in war: https://www.dal.ca//11/10/remembrance-day-2020-dalhousie.h
