It only takes a millisecond of someone looking at your photo for them to draw conclusions about who you are. #authenticheadshot #approachable #friendlyheadshot #facephoto

If marketing yourself is gaining people’s trust, choose a photo of your face that actually looks like your face. Using an old photo, or a heavily doctored photo, is like promising one thing and delivering another. If you see a smiling photo of a 40 year old, but in walks a 55 year old, it’s not good. Be authentic. Sell the real you. #authenticheadshots . Contact me at [email protected] and let’s get you an authentic, beautiful headshot.

It’s easy to put off because you think it won’t be a positive experience. I do headshots different. I’ll make it fun. #facephotography

When posting on a website, or on a social media platform, choose a photo of your face that actually looks like your face. This photo is a wonderful example of how natural and authentic a headshot should be. If there is retouching to do, it should be a light retouch, so people still see your natural beauty. We want to avoid an over-corrected, fake look. If you can tell it’s been retouched, you’ve gone too far. My own personal example was when, several years ago, I went t...o have a coffee with a consultant who I was meeting for the first time. I recognized her because I had done my online research. She had also done her research, but walked right by me and sat down at a different table. When I introduced myself to her, she looked a little surprised and said how different I looked from my photo! I acknowledged that my profile picture was seven or eight years old. It’s kind of a funny story, but it’s also worth considering that our first meeting wasn’t entirely based on mutual trust. I came away feeling like I’d been dishonest about who I was. #authenticheadshots

Your photo shouldn’t matter, but it does. Social media is someone’s first intro to you. It’s the first interview; an unfiltered look at you and it could be more revealing than an in-person first impression. . . . #authenticheadshot #updateyourheadshot
