The Dalhousie Black Student Advising Centre is and will continue to be a safe space for Black students on campus. We stand in solidarity with our Black students, faculty and staff and stand against all acts of racism, discrimination, and senseless acts of violence. #BlackLivesMatter

We caught up with Dena Williams, School of Social Work student, to see what she has been up to since classes ended. I’ve picked up Yoga- I use the Down Dog app which is currently free for students! You can customize your yoga sequences to your comfort and experience level. I've also been doing other at home workouts! 'The {} And' is a card game which has helped me form new relationships and make new friends and enhance the relationships I already have in my life!... Keeping up with my planner and creating a flexible daily routine - helps the time fly by. And I started a podcast!!! It airs every Monday morning. You can find it on Apple, SoundCloud, and Spotify. It’s called Like Ya Said! Here’s the link: linktr.ee/vitamindee.ent.

How I study @ home! Claudia Castillo-Prentt - 3rd year International Development Studies and Political Science Major and the DSU Black Community Rep! I study best at home by having a specific working space! I typically don’t study at home so right now I’m really trying to make my workspace special, with tea or incense that I only put on if I’m getting work done. A friend recommended setting a timer for 20-30mins to get things done and then taking a break when I’m having trouble focusing and I’ve found it super helpful! I think it’s important to be lenient with yourself - listen to your body and take breaks to avoid burning out.
