Today is Trans Day of Remembrance Today we honor those we have lost to anti-trans violence. The pandemic has changed many things, including our ability to gather in person, but it has not changed the violence and discrimination that trans folx face everyday. Trans and gender non-conforming BIPOC are far to often the victims of the violence. ... Today is a day to grieve. Today is a day to think about a future we would like to see. Today is a day for allies to think about what we can do to create change. We will be sharing some posts today both in relation to Trans Day of remberance, support, and some things to also feel joyful about because we know this can be a difficult day for trans folkx to be online. If you are struggling today, we are always here to listen and support. You can email us at [email protected] or reach out through messenger on any of our social media platforms.

Join in for a fun Zine making challenge https://anchorarchive.org/ Every year the Halifax Anchor Archive hosts The 24 Hour Zine Challenge -- a whole bunch of people make zines in a 24-hour window; this year it'll be an online thing of course. Wikipedia says: A zine (short for magazine or fanzine) is a small-circulation self-published work of original or appropriated texts and images, usually reproduced via a copy machine. Zines are the product of either a single person or of... a very small group, and are popularly photocopied into physical prints for circulation. Although by no means exclusively queer, there is usually a lot of queer content in the competion, and there's a huge queer section in the Anchor Archive Zine Library on Gottingen Street. The Zine Challenge has zinemaking kits available at the Archives which we can deliver to your door, and more zinemaking materials and a photocopier, and a MOUNTAIN of snack food are available at Archive Headquarters on Gottingen Street during the competiton. Registration is still open
