We’re helping more young people graduate and start their careers with less debt. In 2020, more than 1,000 university grads had their Nova Scotia Student Loan fo...rgiven, leaving $8 million in their pockets. Nova Scotia has one of the best student-assistance programs in the country. Provincial loans are interest-free, grants are given up front, and the Nova Scotia University Student Bursary provides students with $1,283 per year. Combined, eligible students can receive more than $40,000 they never have to repay. As of August 1, NSCC students are also eligible for loan forgiveness. Parents in Halifax want to be sure their kids will be safe and healthy at school. That's why today the federal government committed $2 billion dollars to support the provinces as they work to ensure a safe return to class. Here's how this federal funding can be put to use:
