A long time ago when fishnet stockings and heels were my choice of dancewear. I’ve since traded those in for cross trainers and sweats, but I am still dancing!

What a year, eh?! Showing up for a Zumba class in 2020 took on a whole new meaning! Be proud of yourselves for continuing to dance and embracing changes. Amazing. I want to also give a shout out to all Zumba instructors and the Zumba home office @zincommunity for really rising up to the occasion in 2020. I am proud and grateful to be part of a larger global Zumba community that spreads health and joy on this planet.... 2021 will probably be another dramatic year, but we are ready and we always have time for dance, music and ultimately joy, no matter how challenging life can get. Starting December, this will be our new virtual Zumba schedule: Saturdays 11am (livestreamed from the park if weather allows) Tuesdays 6pm on Zoom PLUS additional special classes.... For December please join us: Sunday December 6, 11am for a one hour Stretch and Strength class with instructor Karmiel, on Zoom. Sunday December 13, 11:30am for Zumba with me and Karla, on Zoom. December unlimited access to all virtual classes pass available here - only $30: https://www.danceclasstoronto.com/zumba-dance/ I will email you the links and passcodes for all classes. Please add my email to your contacts to avoid it going to a spam or other folder please. If you don't want to purchase a pass, you can do drop-in virtual classes for $7 per class starting in Dec. Select the class you want to attend on the schedule and register there. For Zoom classes, please register half an hour before class starts. Our new dance studio for upcoming outdoor Zumba classes. This weekend we did Zumba classes outside in 10 to 13C weather plus livestream. Not only did I feel comfortable, I felt warm during class. Yesterday when the sun was out some were in their tanks by the end of the class. Today was cloudy so cooler but still comfortable. I felt amazing after class! Thanks ladies for joining! My tip If you are joining an outdoor Zumba class is to layer up: Tank or tshirt, long sleeve, swe...atshirt and if necessary a light jacket you can move in and gloves. Today's announcements in Toronto does NOT = stop exercising. To quote the government today: "Limit trips outside of home, except for essential purposes only such as work where it is not possible to work from home, school, grocery shopping, medical appointments, and outdoor healthy physical activity," Nothing in the guidelines today about sitting around on your couch all day ... Folks, more than ever it is important to make time for your health, proactively. Being healthy is not just about avoiding a virus. Ask yourself what you are doing to take care of your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. My online and outdoor Zumba classes continue to be one of many options available to you. The protocols I already had in place for outdoor Zumba classes are well within the government guidelines and shall continue. Obviously the news today does however mean that indoor Zumba classes at Dovercourt House will not be happening any time soon. Stay strong everyone. Keep moving and keep taking care of your health, proactively.

Being in the present moment is simple but not easy because we are conditioned to overthink. This is why I think things like Zumba and anything that forces you to be in the moment is good for you. The only way to build the 'present moment muscle' is to do it over and over and over again. Eventually it becomes easier and this is where we find peace and even bliss.
