#repost Although we are currently open and able to provide dance education to our dance families dance studios in Toronto, Peel and Ottawa have been shut down under the modified stage 2 closures list because they are unfairly lumped in with adult fitness classes. No other children’s activities or sports have been named in these closures. There is no reason why kids can train in hockey, soccer, martial arts, gymnastics, cheer, etc., but not dance. This impacts children greatly... by taking away their access to exercise, training and development and negatively affects their mental and physical health. Local dance studios have worked extremely hard to make it safe for their dancers to return and to get doing what they love. To close them down now is unfair and targets businesses that have not been identified as high risk by public health. GUESS WHOS BACK IN ACTION! We are so excited to continue with our slow reopening progress! Next week marks our first group style class since March! All families registered will be receiving our COVID-19 guidelines and procedures within the coming days, it will be posted on our social medias. In the meantime a few quick notes about our current procedures which are subject to change at any given time. 1) No changeroom please come dressed and ready.... 2) As per the cities mandatory mask rule. Masks MUST be worn upon entry into the building but may come off during physical activity. 3)If you have a yoga mat please bring it! These will be required by the beginning August and will be used for stretch and during any activity when the dancers are laying on the floor. 4) NO parents in the waiting room - please drop your child off. Your more than welcome to bring a chair and sit outside and practice Social distancing. 5) Every dancer will be required to sanitize BOTH hands and feet upon entry. 6) Please bring a water bottle marked with your name. 7) The floors have been marked and dancers will be assigned a particular box to help maintain social distancing. 8)Studio will be cleaned often especially high touch surfaces! Love that Cayley Joubert participated in this weeks challenge. She did her OWN makeup, put on her jazz group costume and went over her choreo! She also deserve a special shout out as she has completed ALL of the challenge we put out there. She stretches and dances EVERYDAY, she had a goal to get her splits and she accomplished that! Cayley has been working super hard, being quarantined hasnt stopped her at all! Keep working hard Cayley we are so proud of your hard work and all your progress! - if anyone else took on this challenge feel free to send them to us so we can post!
