Hi Dancers! We wanted to send out a message to all of you to let you know that it’s okay to not be okay right now. If you can’t make it to class, or can’t stretch or workout, and have no motivation for anything, that IS okay! We are nearing the one year mark of this pandemic and we are all beyond exhausted of it all. ... We know that many of you aren’t dancing right now and we want you to know that IS okay. Do not feel guilty, do not feel like you’re disappointing anyone, do not feel like you’re falling behind, do not feel like you lack commitment, do not feel like you’re unproductive, do not feel like you’ve lost your love of dance, and do not feel like you’re not a dancer anymore! You are all dancers, whether you are currently dancing or not! This just makes you dancers taking care of yourselves and doing what is best for YOU! Your dance family is here if you need to chat, vent, scream, cry, or if you just want to join a class for a little socialization and not dance! And if you don’t want to do any of that, know that we will still be here when you do return!

This is our plea to tell Mother Nature to stop with the bitter cold! What are you most looking forward to when the warmer weather arrives?

Today’s beautiful weather has got us jumping for joy. It’s a sign of warmer, sunnier days ahead. And we are soooo looking forward to that! How did you spend your day with this gorgeous weather?

Did you know you’re much more likely to stick with an exercise routine if you actually have fun, enjoy yourself, and it doesn’t feel like working out? Dance classes are a great way to get some social interaction, have some fun, burn some calories, build some muscle, AND work your brain. ... We have classes for kids and adults. We teach ballet, jazz, highland, modern, tap, conditioning, foam rolling, and much more! All classes are currently conducted through Zoom so you can do it from the comfort of your home, which also means you don’t even need to be in Ottawa! Walking into 2021 be like... But don’t despair. We won’t let this lockdown stop us, just like the first one didn’t! Keeping yourself active and social is so important for maintaining good mental health during these lengthy lockdowns. So make coming to class a priority, or part of your New Year’s Resolutions, and you won’t be sorry. In fact, you’ll probably be thanking yourself for doing it! ... As of today, we are officially back in the studio (virtually of course). So don’t forget to register for your classes to get the proper Zoom links! We look forward to seeing you all virtually as we get through this lockdown together, from a distance. We got this!

Hi Dancers! We just wanted to let you know that due to the Ontario lockdown, all classes will be online only until at least January 23rd. Don’t forget to still register online so you receive the correct links! We return to the studio on Monday January 4th! Also note some minor schedule changes. Only Sunday classes have been affected and moved to different days. Modern has moved to Monday and Ballet has moved to Saturday. ... We can’t wait to see you back in class, even if it’s only virtually!

Want to get as flexible as these beautiful ladies?! We’ve got a variety of classes to help you get there. We have some daytime classes of Stretching (Thursdays at noon) and Foam Rolling (Friday at noon) as well as a Ball Release class at 5:15pm on Tuesdays! ... Remember that flexibility is not all about stretching, you’ve got to release trigger points and knots in your muscles as well. Could I BE wearing any more clothes?!?!?! We’re certainly feeling the chilly weather now. At least all the layers help with a quick warmup!

When you finally get to live your childhood dreams with the bank account of an adult... Shoes? One pair for every dance style. Leotards? One in every colour, fabric, sleeve length, and neckline. ... Tights? Two in every colour, convertible and full-footed. Skirts? One in every colour, fabric, and length. Leg warmers? Multiple pairs in varying thicknesses. Warm-up booties? Definitely for the winter season. Dance bags? A new one every time I find a cuter one. Costumes? Recital time hurts the pocket, but they can be used for Halloween costumes later! Are we missing anything?

As we head into the chilly season and our first storm is about to descend on us, we mentally prepare ourselves by remembering the good things about winter. Like our Christmas Carol production we did last year! We’re sad we can’t do it again this year, but we can relive last year’s production all winter long. Flashback Friday to one of the coolest tap numbers ever. Unaccompanied by music, they managed to remain entirely in sync and delivered a show-stopping performance. You could feel the vibrations from their feet through the whole theatre. It was truly incredible to watch.

This was relevant pre-quarantine but will be even more true once we get back into the studio. Expectation vs reality: ballet is actually SO HARD!!! So much fun and so amazing...but hard!!! Its easy to look at it and say oh I can do that! but until you understand the mechanics and what goes behind every movement, you have no idea! We give props to anyone trying to learn ballet! You all deserve medals tbh. What year are you in and what is something simple that is still difficult for you?! We want to know!!!
