Dance in the Prairies School of Ballet 24.11.2020

Saskatoon Dancers.... Here is the remarkable Ballerina coming for the Moscow's Great Russian Nutcracker Audition this September 16 at Dance Saskatchewan. Soloist and Audition DirectorMariia Skoruk Mariia Skoruk was awarded "Honorable Mention" at the Fifth Serge Lifar International Ballet Competition in Kiev. In 2009 she graduated with a Choreographic Teaching Degree from the National Dragomanova Pedagogical University. She was born in 1989 in Kiev, Ukraine. At just ten years... old she was invited to attend the famous ballet school of the Kiev State Opera and Ballet Theater. She graduated with a Diploma of Distinction and, seen as a talented ballerina, was invited to join the company of the prestigious Kiev State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. The Kiev company is regarded in the Russian dance world as the third best, after Moscow and St Petersburg. The Kiev Opera and Ballet Theater began its history in 1867 and has developed one of the biggest repertories in the world including 24 ballets. Many famous dancers perform on the National Opera of Ukraine stage including Serge Lifar, Nadezhda Pavlova, Maya Plisetskaya, and more from Moscow’s Bolshoi Theater and the St. Petersburg Kirov Ballet. Mariia has also worked with Moscow Ballet for the past 5 years. She performed in Moscow Ballet’s premiere of Romeo and Juliet in 2011, new staging by Andrei Litvinov, new costumes by Arthur Oliver and all new sets created in St Petersburg’s finest and oldest theatrical shop. Her repertoire is comprised of the entire range of classical characters, among these: Romeo and Juliet, Great Russian Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Giselle, Cinderella, La Bayadere, and Carmen. She has performed internationally in the following countries USA, Canada, Holland, England, Switzerland, Mexico, Colombia, and Ecuador. See more

How many of our followers would be interested in classes for the 2017/2018 dance season? If so what age is your child. This year will be structured / scheduled more on a personal need. If there are enough to run a class or two I will try to make it happen.

Good morning all . I am looking for a host family for the Ballerina coming in for the Nutcracker Auditions. You will be responsible to get her to and from the studio on September 24 and 25. Dancers ...... check this out! Dance in the Prairies Youth Ensemble Touring Group Join us as we celebrate and perform the art of Classical Ballet to our Saskatchewan Community.... First on our tour we will be visiting a handful of residence homes in December. Sharing a Christmas treat, excerpts from The Nutcracker, wearing beautiful hand made costumes. - This was a huge success last year! In the Spring plans are to take the youth ensemble to various elementary schools to perform Cinderella Audition dates: August 28, 2016 Ages 7-11 from 10:00-10:45 Ages 12-17 from 11:00-12:00 Located at Dance Ink - Studio 2 (Located down stairs) 811 29th Street West Saskatoon, SK * Please contact Artistic Director Rae Ann Hydamaka to register for Audition. [email protected] Commitment: Dancers are required to attend rehearsal once a week. Rehearsals will be 1 hour each week. *Classes begin September 9 2016 *Dancers will be allowed to take class prior to rehearsal with Dance in the Prairies dancers at additional monthly cost. Requirements: All dancers must have min 3 years ballet experience and currently be enrolled in a ballet at any dance school Cost: $10 for the Audition- Exact cash only $50 per month once accepted (To cover costume rentals, Studio rental, admin, teacher time and props.) *We work hard to make sure the least amount of school will be missed during our touring weeks. *Dancers will need to commit to all rehearsals and be in attendance at every performance. Individual circumstances may be considered. *We will do our best to ensure Spring Performances will not be during competition season for those from other studios. Great for Performance Opportunities as well as being able to place experience on a dance resume!
